Blanket is curling

Hello, fellow crafters,

My blanket is curling. Am I crocheting too tightly or too loosely? Can I iron it flat again?

Thanks for your tips and tricks.

Was the center section with the granny squares smooth when the first round was crocheted in green? And was it still smooth after that round?

It started warping pretty early on. I figured it might stop at some point. Is there something wrong with the inner squares?

Did you come up with the pattern yourself? From the photo, it looks like there isn’t enough space in the center for the remaining rounds. Unfortunately, you’ve already finished crocheting the blanket. You could try dampening the inner square and stretching it into shape with pins. So, pin the inner square to a firm surface with pins and let it dry. The stitches will give a little. The goal here would be to make the inner square match the rest of the blanket.

That’s what I suspected—that the inner circle is too small.

Stretching it is a good idea.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it works out.

you probably added too many stitches after the granny square.
My tip would be to practice increasing stitches first with a simple crochet pattern. It’s best to find a simple pattern—something small—so you can finish it quickly and feel a sense of accomplishment. Just don’t lose heart—practice makes perfect.
