Help with the Buddha Motif Shawl

Hello to all crafters,

I’m Petra and this is my first time posting here on the forum. I need your help. I’m currently crocheting the Buddha shawl. It’s worked in a filet stitch, and where the motif double crochets are worked over the mesh squares, the fabric is curling up extremely badly. I’ve already done some unraveling and used a larger hook size on my second attempt, but that didn’t make any difference—it’s still curling up a lot.
So my question to you is: does anyone have a special tip for me?
