Dear little helpers,
what are you working on right now?

In two weeks, when I’ve completed my 30th and final occupational therapy session, I’d like to thank my occupational therapist with a personal gift. She’s a single mom with a 5-year-old daughter who loves pink, glitter, and bling. I’d like to make a pair of felt shoes for each of them. I started working on the kids’ felt shoes today and took a few photos for you. Over the next few days, I plan to decorate and embellish them. I’m curious to see how they’ll turn out.

Have a lovely evening.
Best regards, Ina

Step 1: Gather the materials...

Step 2: Knit the shoe blanks

Step 3: After felting in the washing machine, stretch them over shoe lasts.

Nothing at all — I’ve been hit really hard by a cold, with all the usual symptoms, and my head feels like mush, like a melted ice cream cone.

Get well soon, dear Akela.

And now I’m going to try to picture a 10-euro ice cream.

@Akela I hope you feel better soon.

I’m going to do a little crocheting today.

Wishing you a speedy recovery from me too
@Ina
Your felted shoes look great

I'm using up some leftover yarn right now.
Small pillow panel, a small Christmas wreath (crocheted around a wooden ring), square c2c
blanket (pink), small crocheted heart as a bag charm, and a new clothespin bag (here still without a handle)

Get well soon, Akela—from me, too. :)

Petra, everything you’re conjuring up from the leftover yarn looks absolutely beautiful. Great color combination!

I have two projects on the needles. Here’s one of them—a pair of pants for my little granddaughter. It will get straps later.

Akela, I hope you feel better soon, too.

Andrea, you’ve already used up those leftover yarn scraps.

Monika, those pants have really grown a lot.

I’m working on this right now—I wonder what it’ll turn out to be???

That could turn into a mushroom :-)

My two grandchildren have asked me to knit them a hooded jacket with ears on the hood. They brought me the pattern.
I already ordered the yarn today.....

That’s right, it’s going to be a mushroom.
It’s finished now.

I hope you have fun with your jackets.

I just admired your finished mushroom. It turned out great.

@Bastelfan
Dear Andrea, I think because I like YOUR pink c2c blanket so much, I’m starting to feel like trying this pattern. It had passed me by until now. But I think it’s really fun, and it looks absolutely stunning with gradient yarn. That little bag charm looks like something that fits nicely in the hand. You’d probably love to hold it or fiddle with it. It would fit perfectly on the zipper of my backpack.

@mowi
You’re always soooo industrious. Your grandchildren are lucky that you knit warm things for them with so much love and skill.

I’ve finished the pink Filzies in the meantime. Well, actually, I wanted to sew on beads, but then I got hold of a piece of glitter tulle that I had left over from my ball gowns. So I just sewed a tulle flower with a glitter stone onto the top of each shoe. Now I just need to put a rubber coating on the soles.

I wish everyone a wonderful weekend.
Best regards, Ina

Wow, Ina, those are such great slippers! I’d love a pair myself! Your occupational therapist and her little girl are sure to be delighted!

Dear Ruth, little Emily definitely loves them—the more pink, the better. Her mom, on the other hand, has the opposite taste. She likes things casual, understated, and in muted colors. And she wears a size 42—most shoes don’t look that great on her. But I’ll work my magic and come up with something lovely.

I wish all the readers here a wonderful Friday evening.
Love, Ina

Wow, Ina, those are such beautiful slippers—as if made for a ballerina. They’re really something special; they’re sure to bring a lot of joy.

My grandchildren’s parents are actually very happy that the kids are getting hand-knitted items. Since they love natural materials, this means a lot to them. And it just makes me happy to fulfill their wishes.

I also wish all the readers here a wonderful weekend!

Best wishes, Monika
