Dear Josefa,

Since we were invited to a barbecue on Saturday and a birthday party on Sunday last weekend, I’m now looking forward to a quiet and relaxing weekend. A former coworker is coming to visit me tomorrow. We plan to chat, knit, sit in the sun, and eat plum cake together.

Mmm, delicious plum cake—I’ll stop by, Ina.

Unfortunately, the weather here looks pretty gloomy and rainy; the leaves are falling from the trees. You’d think it might start snowing any minute. It’s not cold, but it’s unpleasant.

So we’ll be having a quiet and relaxed weekend. Maybe we’ll work on a few unfinished crochet projects or bake a fruit tart. We’ll see. We’ll just go with the flow.

Have a nice weekend, too. Make the most of the sun while you still can. We could use a few more
rays of sunshine here before the dark season sets in—though it didn’t really get very bright today either.

We’re having guests tomorrow, and we’ll see about the day after tomorrow. 
In the evening, I’ll keep working on the baby blanket for my nephew.

Today I installed duo roller shades on Lisa’s window and the balcony door.

Now that my rubber tips for my Nordic walking poles have arrived, I can use them again.

Since it’s raining outside, I’d have time today to tidy up my sewing room. Let’s see how far I get

My Saturday was very nice. The visit was pleasant, the weather was perfect—sunny and autumnal. The plum cake was delicious. Now I’m enjoying my evening and am about to treat myself to a fragrant, relaxing bath. If you make things nice for yourself, you’ll enjoy yourself too.

P.S. It’s already starting to feel a bit like fall, but I can always find a few flowers and grasses for a bouquet in my garden.

Today, our daughters finally came to visit again—each with their family or boyfriend. We enjoyed a cozy afternoon with a delicious pear cake (made with pears from our own garden), and the boys had fun picking apples with the fruit picker. And Julian was, of course, proud of the pears from his tree! (We plant a tree in the garden for each grandchild.)
Tomorrow we’re looking forward to a quiet Sunday with a trip to church (with the usual safety precautions, of course), reading, and crafts.
