Yarn for a café curtain

Hi everyone,

I’d like to crochet a café curtain. I’ve already found a really great pattern here :-) So I bought some typical curtain yarn, but it’s sooo hard and stiff. My fingers were almost sore. It’s no fun crocheting like this, so I put it away again...
Do you have any tips for a suitable yarn that might not be so stiff? Or is this normal? It’s my first curtain.

I crocheted my curtains with 4-ply bobbel yarn (cotton-polyacrylic blend). It’s softer and holds its shape.

That’s a great idea. I hadn’t thought of that.
I’d prefer it thinner, but that’s no problem—I can have the single-color yarn wound with 2 or 3 strands. And then you hardly have to sew anything together—that’s great, too! :-)

Hi Miriam,
I usually work with “Twister Crochet Yarn 100” (580 m/100 g) or “Gründl Crochet Yarn 100” (566 m/100 g).
Both are great to work with, whether for small or large projects.

I just checked out and bought the “Crochet Yarn 100” from Gründl :-)
It’s worlds apart from what I had at first. Sooo much softer and easier to crochet with!
