Dear users, dear authors,
What are you looking for—or what do you find—in a craft forum or craft portal?

To share ideas and discover new ones.
And to be able to ask for help when problems arise.

I think forums are great for exchanging ideas, finding new inspiration, or just having a chat with like-minded people

I think the forum is great for exchanging ideas and helping each other with questions. It’s also a great way to share lots of helpful tips. I’ve even learned some techniques here that were new to me.

I think a craft forum like this is like a big family. It’s a place where we help each other with problems, share ideas, and, of course, just chat. Seeing what others are working on… there are many reasons.
For example, since I live abroad, I also use this forum to stay in touch with home and the German-speaking world—especially when I have to speak Norwegian or English all day long. I wouldn’t want to miss it—it does me a world of good.

A craft forum like this is a great thing—you can exchange ideas, learn new techniques, get help when you hit a snag with your craft project, and also receive support and encouragement when you’re not feeling your best.
You also get to see what others are working on, and I’m always amazed when I see some of the knitted or crocheted items here—I’ll never be able to achieve that level of skill myself.

Without the forum, I’d feel like something was missing! Unfortunately, I rarely have the chance to connect with like-minded people in my area, but in the forum I find so many ideas, helpful tips, and even learn new things—like “Lieseln” recently. Many of the other contributors have become like good friends, and I eagerly follow how they’re doing and all the things they’ve accomplished. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who enriches my everyday life so much: I’m so glad you’re here!

Yes, I feel exactly the same way as Christina and Andrea. I also feel like this is one big family. I’ve gotten to know many of you here very well, and we’ve even developed personal connections. That makes me very happy. I’d miss this too, and I want to thank you all for being here!

Best regards
Monika

I enjoy posting in the forum to share ideas. It’s nice to see what others have been working on in the last few days—I get ideas and inspiration that way. I ask for help and am happy to share my knowledge. I’m amazed by others’ perseverance and skill, and I’m delighted when my work receives praise. Over the years, a sense of community builds up. That’s how I feel here on CP, and also on my blog.

Would anyone else like to add anything?

I once read a sentence somewhere: “This is my virtual home.”

CP is initially just a platform where you can buy patterns or get inspiration. BUT without the forum, it would be soulless. It’s only through the forum that there is personal interaction, little chats about crafts, new techniques, or even personal things from everyday life. This makes the person behind the computer—wherever they are sitting and writing—feel approachable and imaginable. Everyone who participates in the forum contributes something personal. That feels good, and if you get involved, you are no longer alone, but part of this community.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who actively participates in the forum, contributes new ideas, asks questions, shows personal photos, responds to others, shows sympathy when there are problems, offers comfort, sends congratulations, and simply makes us want more togetherness.

And I would also like to thank Josefa, who runs the forum so well, encourages us, praises us, helps us, links posts, provides assistance, draws us out of our shells, and spurs us on. She is always approachable and can somehow tune in to everyone’s wavelength. She is open to questions and new ideas. All together, this makes our forum fresh, interesting, and worth reading.

I look forward to a forum that continues to be lively and personally enriching for me.

Warm regards from Ina

Thanks, Ina—that’s really sweet of you. It’s great to have you here.
A forum is only as good as its active readers and users. Without you, none of this would be possible. :- )

Dear Ina

You couldn’t have put it better! Thank you for your wonderful post and for your warm thanks to Josefa—I’d like to echo those sentiments.

I’d also like to echo Ina’s words. It really couldn’t be said any better or more accurately. I especially agree wholeheartedly with the thanks to Josefa.

It’s wonderful that we have each other and this forum. Otherwise, I’d be pretty much on my own with my crafts.

Thank you for your kind words. :-)

Could it be that this forum is somehow different from other craft forums? I’d like to see more posts from users.
How could we make that happen?
