Dear users, dear designers,
August is over. So it’s time for the awards ceremony.

You can read through the August projects again via the link.
August projects and July projects, Part 2: the Crazypatterns Handicrafts Group (No advertising)

Info about the final sprint / August awards ceremony:

How does it work?
Copy the section in the post below between the asterisks into your text field / reply field, fill it out accordingly, or delete what doesn’t apply to you.

When will the August awards ceremony take place?
Around August 3/4, 2020. All participants will be entered. None of you will go offline without a title.

I’m “just” a regular user here, not a designer with my own shop. Can I still join in?

All users and all designers can take part in the awards ceremony. Anyone who writes a relevant post here in the thread is automatically included in the awards ceremony.

August title awards: at least one honorary title per person
If someone has overcome many everyday challenges in August 2020, this can, at the request of the respective user / designer, be acknowledged with a suitable honorary title / extra bonus points. If necessary, I’ll come up with a fitting title.

Earn extra points / bonus points and improve your own karma: Here’s how it works.
- You’ll receive extra bonus karma points for your own uploaded photos / images. Please do not upload third-party images or photos that do not belong to you, or photos from somewhere on the internet. These will be deleted.

- Finished handmade projects that are given to dear people as gifts or donated will, of course, always earn you extra karma points / bonus points, to appropriately honor the time / effort / energy put into them.
--> Please provide the details for each case here in the thread.

- Feedback for Crazypatterns designers (e.g., in the form of reviews, comments, etc.) is always rewarded with extra points.
--> Please write down details if applicable.

Template to copy in the post directly below.

Stay brave even during the coronavirus pandemic: become and remain the Perseverance King/Queen
[ ] I am and will remain brave, meet the respective requirements (disinfecting, washing hands thoroughly, keeping social distance, staying home, wearing masks, etc.), do not lose courage, and hope for the best.

UFO King/Queen in August / WIP King/Queen in August
[ ] In August I finished one of my UFOs (= an unfinished object = an unfinished craft project that may have been waiting to be completed for quite a while) or one of my WIPs (work in progress = a craft project in progress, a project that has been worked on for a longer time) and have therefore earned the title of UFO King/Queen / WIP King/Queen in August.

therefore the Yarn Empress of the month / quarter, etc. But the yarn diet is now over; I will buy yarn in September.

Please specify the total period.
[ ] I am working toward the title Super Yarn-Mountain Conqueror = This is a very long and very detailed yarn diet that continues after the honorary title
Inner-Pig-Dog Conqueror (= a whole year without buying yarn).

Details:

daheim bleiben, Masken tragen etc.

disziplinierte(-r ) Dranbleiben-KönigIn: hier gibts keine Ufos
Details:

einfache anfängertaugliche bzw. fernsehtaugliche Muster / Modelle, Tiere
/ niedliche Amigurumi, Deko, Trendtiere, Einhörner, Eulen,
Meerjungfrauendecken,  Babyschuhe etc. pp. hochgeladen oder auch
überarbeitet.

--> Details hier aufschreiben. Link + Bild erlaubt.

despite renovating, I found time to sew one thing or another, even by hand if I had to :-)
The box was an experiment to see what was possible, because I have severe arthritis in my right hand, so some things just aren’t possible anymore, or only to a limited extent.

But Corona is still keeping me cooped up, and so I don’t go completely crazy, I’m trying to compensate for it all with crafting.
I don’t have any UFOs, because that’s a leftover from my training: what gets started today also gets finished today. Okay, with sewing projects that’s easier than with knitting or crocheting. :-)
I also tried again in August to start one thread or another, which I think I managed to do-

I’m not thinking about Christmas gifts yet, because before then I still have my husband’s birthday and mine, as well as my sister’s. I’ve already finished the birthday gifts for my godmother too; she turns 84 this month.

I’m not taking part here as an author, but just as a completely normal forum member-

[X ] I am and will stay brave, meet the respective requirements (disinfecting, washing hands thoroughly, keeping social distance, staying home, wearing masks, etc.), do not lose my courage, and hope
At the moment I’m not even going to knitting coffee... We (about 15 knitters) usually meet every Thursday. I really miss that, but now that we have to sit inside again, it feels too “unsafe” to me...

King/Queen of the long-term project
[ X] I am working on a larger / extensive long-term project and am sticking with it.
Details about the long-term project: I’ve been knitting a cardigan since May 8.... The body is finished and the first sleeve is almost done too...
The whole thing is knitted in “Mittern,” like domino knitting, just different sizes / stitch counts....
The sleeve is still missing 4 Mitter, and stitches will still be picked up along the side....

Forum King/Queen in the month of August
[X ] I created at least one forum post in August. The more, the better.
[ x] I created threads (one or more) in the forum in August.

A little late—but still here. ;-)

I didn’t get to do as much crafting in August (and I wasn’t as active here as usual either), but I was busy in the garden and processing fruit.

King/Queen of the Long-Term Project
[x ] I’m working on a larger / extensive long-term project and sticking with it.
I don’t know yet what I’ll call it; it’s a larger project made from sock yarn for myself.

Yarn Diet 2020 / Yarn Emperor/Empress / Inner Slob Conqueror in August 2020
[x ] I’d like to have the coveted honorary title of Inner Slob Conqueror, because short yarn diets now and then just aren’t enough for me. My goal is to make it a whole year or longer without buying yarn.
I haven’t bought any yarn since December 2019 and I’m still holding out.

Hardworking Brownie in August
  • I finished knitting the first Christmas gift—the sweater for my granddaughter. (See photo below)
  • I also finished knitting a shawl. Here’s the photo.

[ x] I was especially busy with regular everyday life in August.
I picked and processed between 500 and 1000 g of raspberries every day. I also made a lot of jam and processed apples. And harvested and processed 3 kg of my own nectarines.
Here are photos of that:

Forum King/Queen in August
[x ] I created at least one forum post in August. The more, the better.
[x ] I took part in the birthday threads / congratulated users and authors.
[x ] I joined the monthly Crazypatterns crafting group and had fun with it. = The respective monthly project threads.

Garden Season 2020
[x ] I had pleasant cozy-blanket evenings / had lots of fun crafting in front of the TV.
Details:
[x ] I made use of sunny moments and had lots of fun in the garden / on the balcony, etc.
Details:
[ x] I have already started crafting decorations / gifts for Christmas / clothing for fall / .
The first Christmas gift is finished—the sweater for my 4-year-old granddaughter.

Here are a few small glimpses of the garden harvest:

I’ve gone through everything once.
I’ve posted updates for the users who’ve added more details. Everyone here in the thread is listed.
Who’s still missing?
Fun-Design?
Nadeleule?
bergli?

Where are titles or details still missing?

Josefa, thank you so much for your titles and the wonderful awards ceremony.

“The Street Singer” and “The Queen of Patience” are, once again, super funny titles.
I wish you a great September, too, and hope you continue to have fun with us.

Dear Josefa, Thank you very much for the—as always—amusing awards ceremony. The “Queen of Inspiration” title makes me especially proud.

Josefa, I’m so touched… sooo many titles! I especially loved “Queen of Grandma’s Sweaters.” You always come up with something new. Thank you for the belated awards ceremony! :)
