What do you like to knit or crochet the most? Do you have any favorites?

Whenever I look for patterns to decide what to pick up next, I usually end up with cardigans....
Or when it comes to crocheting, almost always with amigurumi, comfort blankets, or dragons... So my room looks more like a kid’s room, which makes my nephew (3) very happy 😂.... and drives my husband to despair 😁
Or it has to have looooads of stitch patterns to knit....

I’ve already knitted lots of sweaters, tops, and cardigans.
My favorite thing to knit is lace patterns, or pieces with different patterns.
I also really enjoy Tunisian crochet. I’m always trying out
new patterns.
When crocheting, I also really like amigurumi or decorative items.

I used to only knit, mainly sweaters and jackets.
Since my grandchildren were born, I’ve rediscovered crocheting and love making amigurumi, amigurumi, amigurumi. I give many of them away, but there are some I just can’t part with. So my apartment looks like a kids’ room, too—there are crocheted stuffed animals scattered everywhere. My grandchildren love them and play with them endlessly. And every now and then, they “borrow” one of the animals.

Today I bought some sock yarn… for gloves 😊
Maybe I’ll get some this year, too.
By the way, I’ve never knitted socks before... for some reason, I just don’t feel like knitting them; gloves, yes—even though I’m knitting the same thing twice.
But it’s nice to read that I’m not the only one with a “kids’ room”...
When my nephew comes to visit, we always play “Safari”—who can spot the new animals? 😉

My grandchildren are always playing “zoo”: They put the different animals—the ones “that get along”—together and feed them...

My favorite crochet projects are often these amigurumis and crochet dolls, bag charms, but also flat pieces like triangular shawls, tablecloths, scarves, crochet bags, and crochet blankets made from granny squares or stripes with different patterns.
More small projects where I can see quick results.

@everyone,
I’m sure there’s plenty to discover in your homes… colorful and interesting woolen creations everywhere. If you do crafts yourself, you naturally notice them in others’ homes too. So I’d love to visit Ruth and her grandchildren at their “zoo,” or rummage through Steffi’s closet for cardigans, or check out all the little favorite pieces at Bastelfan. Everyone has their own style and preferences.

After I used to do all sorts of things—from making cards to stamping, basket weaving, and so on—I moved on to wool crafts. So, knitting, crocheting, knotting, and felting. At some point, I realized I couldn’t do everything equally well, so I stuck with the things I loved most. What I love most is knitting and crocheting doll clothes. My heart is just set on them.

Warm regards, Ina

I love knitting doll clothes and outfits for my two granddaughters. They’re always asking me to make things for them, which gives me a chance to incorporate my own ideas.

Useful little items are easier to crochet, and I love that, too. However, I generally prefer knitting, especially for clothing.  That way, it’s more stretchy.

When I’m watching movies, though, I like to have a bigger project that doesn’t require me to pay so much attention. That’s why I recently discovered knitting shawls—they come together quickly this way.

Actually, I don’t really have any favorites, as you can see from my downloads and my wish list: There’s a colorful mix of everything from small decorative pieces to amigurumis, dolls and doll clothes, socks, wrist warmers, scarves, and large shawls. There are also summer sweaters and cardigans, lots of bookmarks and dish towels…
There are always several projects in my knitting basket: something bigger for at home (in front of the TV), smaller, simple things for on the go (and, unfortunately, a few ancient UFOs).

Right now, I prefer knitting to crocheting. I really enjoy making baby blankets—there’s plenty of demand for them at the moment.

But I also enjoy designing shawls.

And little gifts to bring when we’re invited over—dishcloths, soap pouches, little baskets, lanterns

Actually, I do a bit of everything, depending on my mood at the time. Maybe that’s why I have so many UFOs in my boxes—my moods are all over the place right now.

I know that feeling....
I’ve been knitting for quite a while now, and right now I’ve got the crochet hook in my hand....
I’m still working on my cardigan, but I’ve put it aside for a bit these past two days... even though I only have one sleeve left to go 😅
I thought I could knit something simple in between... now I have two UFO shawls lying around. I think both of them will end up getting “frogged” again....
So it’s not just me who goes through “phases” where one thing is fun and everything else gets put aside 😁

I enjoy crocheting and knitting triangle shawls.
Ever since I discovered top-down raglan construction, I’ve also taken a liking to sweaters and dresses. I don’t make the latter as often, though, since they’re still time-consuming.
I also like hats.
Blankets and doilies… as you can see, I don’t really have any specific favorites.

Who lives there, anyway?
A little project to work on in between 😁
