How hot is it where you are?

Dear users, dear authors,
what's the weather like, and how are you staying cool?

Today it’s okay—thankfully it’s *only* 21°—I’ve got all the windows open to let the fresh air in, and it’s raining today too, so the air is getting *cleared* :-) But yesterday and the day before, we had temperatures up to 36/37° here in Main-Franconia—way too hot, especially at night, when it was still up to 25°. I put a fan in my bedroom because there was no way I could sleep without it.
I drink a lot—I can easily manage up to 4 liters a day without hesitation. Most of it just gets sweated out anyway. Otherwise, I air the place out well early in the morning and then lower the blinds, if there are any, and only go outside when it’s absolutely necessary. I don’t go swimming anyway, because the lakes are packed, social distancing and masks are foreign concepts to many people, and I don’t like going to public pools because I don’t want the police to collect my personal data.

It’s lovely here today on the edge of the Swabian Alb. It’s 23.5 degrees with a light rain.

I hope the temperatures don’t rise above 30 degrees again.

Yesterday it was 35 °C.
Since we have a pool, I can always cool off there.
Walks with the pups aren’t happening… it’s just too hot for them.
But on the bright side, I’m making good progress on my work.
It’s supposed to be 35 °C again today.
Right now it’s still pretty hazy… Let’s see what else is in store ;)

I’ve been reading your posts with envy—here in the Leipzig area, it’s still 34 / 35 °C, and the asphalt is sizzling. I’ve had all the windows open since 5:00 a.m., and it’s a little more comfortable in this old building with its thick walls. We’ve built a pool,
too, and we’ll jump in after work.
They’re saying there might be thunderstorms here tomorrow as well… but who knows if anything will actually happen…

Here at home, it’s a pleasant 25 degrees, with some sun and clouds. That’s perfectly fine. More sun tomorrow. I’ll be sitting out on the patio again.

Right now, the thermometer is showing just 26.8°, but after the brief rain at noon, it got hot and humid again. The last few days have also seen temperatures above 30°—too hot to do much of anything. Luckily, I was still able to crochet!
