Wave Pattern

Dear users, dear authors,
What is a wave pattern and what is it used for?

Do you mean one like this, Josefa? This is going to be a scarf—if I ever finish it, that is—because I just don’t feel like knitting at all right now :-)

I’ve only heard the term and wasn’t sure what exactly is considered a wave pattern.

There are various wave patterns. You can crochet or knit them. Standard stitches are used. In some places, stitches are knitted or crocheted together at regular intervals, and in other places, stitches are increased. As you work, waves form visually. The waves stand out especially well when you use variegated yarns. Here’s an example of a knitted wave pattern (photo is mine).
