Is St. Nicholas Day still a long way off for you?

All the better—now you can take your time picking out the right yarn and comfortably knit Meriyasu .

Meriyasu consists of a simple knitted sock with a contrasting cuff, heel, and toe.
The letters are embroidered onto the sock.

The PDF file consists of 4 pages with abbreviations and detailed photos.
It’s suitable for advanced knitters.

How about a little crocheted St. Nicholas boot? It’s easy to fill, and it looks decorative later on with a pine branch inside. Plus, you can make it in your (granddaughter’s?) favorite colors. It doesn’t always have to be the classic Christmas colors. We’ll crochet individual hexagons, then join them together, add the boot cuff and loop, plus a little pom-pom for decoration—and you’re done! You’ll enjoy it every year.

I hope you have fun making it.

Warm regards from Ina

Of course, your dog needs its own St. Nicholas stocking ;-)
NICK St. Nicholas bone is quick to sew, e.g. from fleece in classic or modern colors, and has plenty of room for a St. Nicholas surprise for small or large dogs.

It’s a little strange to be thinking about St. Nicholas Day already: With this heat, winter still seems a long way off. But we know from experience—the day always comes sooner than you think.

So if you’d like to give something for St. Nicholas Day, I’d like to suggest suitable packaging for it.

This elegant St. Nicholas boot is made of photo cardstock and measures approx. 17.5 x 22.5 x 8 cm. With a little crafting experience, it’s very easy to recreate.

Can it really almost be St. Nicholas Day already? But Easter was just here!

You can transform the reversible doll "Nikolausi-Osterhasi" from a bunny girl into a dignified St. Nicholas (Santa Claus) in no time at all. This great 2-in-1 decoration is not hard to crochet and is lots of fun!
Here is the crochet pattern for "Nikolausi-Osterhasi"

This year we’re crocheting the little gift bags for St. Nicholas ourselves!

The pattern is very easy to make. You can make the little bags from leftover sock yarn or specially from Christmas-colored gradient yarn. The fun appliqués make it clear right away that the bags are meant for St. Nicholas. But they are also a sustainable packaging idea for Christmas gifts.
Here is the crochet pattern for the little gift bags!

And here he finally comes flying in with his reindeer sleigh!

The reindeer, sleigh, Santa Claus, and gift sack are not permanently attached to each other, so you can decorate them a little differently again and again. That also makes them suitable as an Advent calendar by putting a new little surprise into the sack each day.

With the current temperatures, no one is really thinking about Christmas yet, but the time will come when harsh winds blow and you’ll be glad to have a draft stopper—so why not incorporate one into your pre-Christmas decorations? You can also sew 24 small pouches onto the long roll, as described for the battery compartment, to create your own personalized Advent calendar.

Are you hoping for a gift from St. Nicholas this year, too? Then you should definitely prepare something suitable to put it in! How about a self-sewn St. Nicholas stocking?

This boot can hold quite a lot, since it measures about 28 x 39 cm! It’s sewn from thin felt, decorated with felt scraps, and perfect for beginners with basic sewing skills.

Stella Star Set
Great star set for the pre-Christmas season

-- to the pattern --

The stars make lovely decorations for the pre-Christmas season and are quick to crochet from some leftover yarn.

Even as a beginner with basic skills, these stars are easy to crochet.
The richly illustrated pattern with step-by-step instructions also helps, as always, and a crochet chart is included too.

The stars were crocheted using 15g/20g/45g  cotton yarn (e.g. Gründl Cotton Fun, LL 115m/50g).
They measure 11cm, 13cm and 22cm.

Set of Tree Ornaments
beautiful pre-Christmas decoration

-- to the pattern --

The tree ornaments are quickly crocheted from a few small leftover yarn scraps and make a versatile decoration for the pre-Christmas season.

As always, the pattern is richly illustrated and describes step by step how to crochet the little trees. With basic crochet skills the little trees are quick to make.

About 10 g of cotton yarn (e.g., Gründl Cotton Fun, yardage 115 m/50 g) was used for each little tree.
They are 7.5 cm, 10.5 cm, and 11.5 cm tall.

On St. Nicholas Day, the Christmas mice can also scurry into their new homes.
They’re also great for hiding small cash gifts inside. Of course, they’re also perfect for
St. Nicholas Day and the run-up to Christmas as decorations

It doesn’t always have to be a St. Nicholas sack! This packaging is guaranteed not to be thrown away!

Nuts and sweets can also be given as a gift in an attractive candy jar! All you need is an empty jam jar and a few bits of leftover yarn in Christmas colors. Then the lid is crocheted around and decorated with the crocheted St. Nicholas.

When the jar is empty, you can put an LED light or a string of lights inside and have a beautiful illuminated decoration for the rest of the Christmas season.

Click here for the crochet pattern for the “Santa Claus” candy jar!
