Crocheting extended single crochets

Dear users, dear authors,
does anyone know what an extended single crochet is?

It’s a “fluffier” version of the single crochet.
You insert the hook and pull the yarn through. With two loops on the hook, you now pull the working yarn through only the first loop, so that there are two loops left on the hook. You then crochet these two “normally,” pulling the working yarn through both loops.
The work won’t be as tight as it is with regular single crochet stitches.

I know it by the term “single crochet with a foot loop”:

 
insert hook, pull up a loop (there are 2 loops on the hook)
 
yarn over again,

pull through 1 loop (this is the
foot loop)

yarn over again,
 
pull through both loops.
The stitch is slightly taller than a normal single crochet.

 

Ugh, why are there so many gaps???

Exactly, that’s how I know this stitch. Single crochet with a foundation loop. I crocheted this pattern once, but unfortunately I don’t remember which project it was for.

I removed the gaps. That happens every now and then when you copy text and images, for example, from a blog post. That’s why you should avoid doing that.
It’s nice of you to answer my question with informative pictures and explanations.

I use extended single crochet stitches when I want something to look knitted.
The extra loop makes it easier to insert the hook between the two vertical strands.
