Working with Silk: What Should You Keep in Mind?

what should you keep in mind when sewing, knitting, embroidering, or crocheting with silk or yarn containing silk?

With silk, it’s always best to use a very thin needle, as silk is very sensitive to holes. Since silk tends to slip because it’s smooth while sewing—and if your sewing machine doesn’t have an upper feed—it’s recommended to place tissue paper or greaseproof paper between the presser foot and the fabric. Silk feels nice and cool against the skin and is an ideal summer fabric because it’s natural and therefore breathable.
