What’s fascinating you right now?

Dear users, dear authors,
is there currently a technique / a material, etc. that fascinates you?

I’m really into swivel joints right now. I’m going to use them on my next figurine. The store where I placed my order also sells accessories for bobbleheads. Of course, I ordered those too. :-) 

For the first time in a long while, I’m planning to make a quilt with lots of triangles, because it’s always a challenge for me to assemble them so they fit together perfectly.

I’ve rediscovered macramé.
I’m trying to make a scarf with it.

Right now, I’ve rediscovered filet crochet. It requires me to concentrate, which helps distract me from some of my problems. And in the process, I also end up creating some beautiful things.

I’ve had a pair of old jeans sitting by my sewing machine for weeks now—I want to sew a new bag out of them. I’m on vacation next week, so I hope I’ll be able to tackle this project then.

And I paint

For me, it’s bread baking right now. I’m digging out my old personal recipes and baking them again after 25 years(!). And I’m really enjoying it, because bread made with baking ferment is super easy to digest and you don’t need yeast. The results are just great! I’m also totally thrilled with my old crispbread recipe, which is quick to make. Much to my husband’s delight, by the way.

I’ve also tried baking rolls before—the kind made with quark and yeast dough. They’re quick to make, and you’ve got your Sunday rolls in no time (I found the recipe online).
