Changing the texture of the front and back

Hi everyone,

I’m crocheting a hot water bottle cover and would like to add some variety to this relatively large, uniform surface.

Is there a way I can change the texture? As you can see in the picture, one side is turning out “cozy,” while the other side is more standard.




Can I change this while I’m crocheting? Right now, the bottom part is normal, and I’d love it if the rest—or the middle section—were cozy. What do I need to change while crocheting?

maybe cut the yarn after reaching the desired length and flip the back side to the front. 

I forgot to mention: After that, continue crocheting with the pattern as usual.

Unfortunately, the yarn is pretty much the same on all sides. It’s just regular yarn that’s a little fuzzier. 

I think you’d have to change something about the technique...

Oh, I see—then my idea is no longer necessary.

So you want to have a little bit of the inside turned outward? Then you can simply finish a round, turn it over, and crochet in the other direction...
