Tips for Crafts with Kids / Keeping Kids Entertained

Dear users and authors,
do you have any tips for doing crafts with kids? How can you keep kids entertained with crafts?

In front of my store in Munich was this torture stake...and right next to it, a preschool...the two went together perfectly 

My youngest granddaughter has a wide range of interests when it comes to crafts and sewing. Last weekend she sewed herself a jersey sweater—the girl is 9 1/2 years old and has been sewing since she was 7. Now she’s learning to crochet and has chosen to make a penguin; I’m curious to see how it turns out :-)
Especially with kids, you should keep things relaxed and playful, because nothing is worse than coercion and pressure, especially when it comes to crafts.
