Hi everyone,

I'm new here and a relative beginner when it comes to crocheting. Can someone please explain the following example to me?! That would be great... Thanks

(inc) x2, 9 sc, (inc) x3, 9 sc, inc

I just don't understand this pattern at all.

"zun" means "increase," so you crochet 2 stitches into one stitch from the previous row.
So
here, you crochet 2 stitches into one stitch, then another 2 stitches into one stitch,
then 9 single crochets, then 3 sets of 2 stitches into one stitch, then another 9 single crochets, and finally, crochet 2 stitches into one stitch one more time.

if something is in parentheses, it is repeated according to the number.

if I see it correctly, you currently have 24 stitches.
I don’t know whether you’re crocheting or knitting right now. So I’ll write it out stitch by stitch and assume that you’re crocheting single crochet stitches.

1. 2 single crochets into the first stitch
2. 2 single crochets into the second stitch
that was (inc)x2
3. to 11. crochet one single crochet in each stitch
that was 9 sc
12. 2 single crochets into the 12th stitch
13. 2 single crochets into the 13th stitch
14. 2 single crochets into the 14th stitch
that was (inc) x3
15. to 23. crochet one single crochet in each stitch
that was 9 sc
24. 2 single crochets into the 24th stitch
that was inc

You should now have 30 stitches.
