Fashion Trend: Socks Worn Over Pants

Dear users, dear authors,
Pulling socks over your pants was already in / on trend back in the ’90s, and now it’s back again. Can you get excited about it, or not so much?
Apparently you need white tennis socks for it, too. :- )

I had no idea this was back in style. But when it comes to fashion, we humans obviously never learn from our past mistakes ;-) As you can easily tell, I’m not a fan at all.

My 4-year-old daughter, however, has recently started enjoying wearing her socks over her pants—she’s obviously more fashion-conscious than I am :-)

To each their own; I found it unbearable back then, and I still do today.

That trend passed me by back then.

Oh no, that looks awful to me!

Socks over pants—never heard of that. This trend completely passed me by. I’m just not into it at all.

The current trend—sneaker socks, sneakers, and thick jackets “on top”—is just as silly and not healthy at all.

You don’t have to go along with everything, but to each their own.

Speaking of “sneaker socks and trainers” — that reminds me of a photo from Postillon: “ankle scarves” ;)

I think this trend is awful too, but I never went along with the “wearing pants inside boots” trend either. Our daughter also wears the “sneaker socks, sneakers, and pants rolled up at the bottom” look. 

I haven’t noticed it yet, let alone seen it. And I think it’s awful, too.

Just awful, back then and now.

Oh, I had no idea this was a trend. My daughter sometimes ends up with a sock over her pants.
It happens because she gets dressed half-asleep in the morning.

Otherwise, this trend has completely passed me by.

It already looked absolutely awful back then.

But if that’s your thing, I hope you have fun wearing them.

Oh my gosh... even sneakers can’t save this look—you might as well wear Adilettes with it. I’m shaking my head, but every generation has the right to make its own mistakes... *laughs* Just close your eyes and power through!

Not here yet, but bare ankles are “in.”

I actually saw a guy in shorts at the train station the day before yesterday—seriously—and there was snow on the ground. He must have just come back from a sunny vacation. I just wanted to tell you that; unfortunately, I don’t have a photo to prove it.
