Yeah, I feel exactly the same way as Ina. It’s really stormy and wild out there today—there have already been a few fallen trees in the area, but everything’s fine here in our town. I’m going to curl up with my husband and some yarn now.
We’re in Austria, after all. The storm here is still pretty mild. My mother-in-law was over at our place today. But everything’s fine there, too.
The vacation is really nice, but also exhausting. You definitely have to keep a closer eye on Anton at the hotel than at home.
He has a crib here… we thought it was safe, but we were proven wrong this morning. When he sat on our bed at 7 a.m. and proudly announced, “I climbed out of bed.” :-) It was really hard to keep a straight face. Because he was so proud and so cute.
This afternoon I had a massage and went to one of those bio saunas… it was wonderful.
Sandra, I’m so happy for you—or rather, for all of you. Yes, Anton is getting bigger and more independent. It’s only a matter of time before nothing is safe from him anymore—not even a crib. ;-) Basically, he really deserves praise for this, because for him it’s a real sense of accomplishment.
I hope you all continue to have a wonderful vacation together.
Well, up here in the far north, it was “normally” windy. Most of the snow is gone, with temperatures mostly around +5 degrees, and sometimes as low as -6 in the early mornings. At least everything here is snow-free, except at higher elevations. And it stays light for longer now.
Well, that sounds great, Sandra, about your vacation. Massages are wonderful. What exactly is a bio sauna? With herbal infusions and things like that?
I had to smile when I read that your Anton climbed out of bed. Yes, I remember that from my kids when they were little. We took a few bars out of the bed so they could climb in and out more easily without hurting themselves. Kids are curious, after all, and try everything.
Have fun,
and I hope all the forum members have a pleasant working week.
Sandra, on Sunday our son said it was definitely time for a bigger bed, since Nicolas (who turns 2 in March) is trying to climb out of it!
We had a pretty intense storm here too, but luckily it didn’t cause any damage. All the new roof tiles are still on the roof, and all the trees are still standing.
We took the bars off his bed at home a long time ago. He climbed out for the first time when he was about 1.5 years old. :-)
Here at the hotel, we were hoping it would still work out, since unfortunately the room doors can always be opened from the inside. :-((( We have a 5-course dinner here in the evenings. After the third course, we put him to bed and go back downstairs with the baby monitor. Today we still had to go back up three times because he was crying. Each time, he was probably looking for us and was already standing at the room door.
But we were always there quickly.
But I'm already imagining the worst and fear that we might have to search the whole hotel for him.
