Dear readers, dear authors,
2015 is almost over. I hope you all had a wonderful year.
May 2016 be a good year for all of you and your loved ones, filled with good luck and good health.

This thread is all about decorations for New Year’s Eve parties, good luck charms for the new year, and the corresponding patterns.
Authors can share up to two thematically relevant patterns here, each with a picture, a link, and at least four lines of text.

I’d be delighted if you all continue to read, participate in discussions, and buy or sell on CP in 2016 as well.
Take care of yourselves and set aside as much time as possible for crafts. As you know, crafts are good for your health—they help you stay slim, relaxed, and happy. You can never get enough of them, and with the numerous patterns here on Crazypatterns, you’ll definitely never get bored—because there’s always one more pattern you just have to make. :-)

Ladybugs bring good luck. They make great table decorations. For example, the ladybug can be placed on the plate together with the clover leaf. That way, you also have a suitable little gift for your guests.
Kids like these lucky charms too. They can also be used as patches for T-shirts, pants, etc.
There are many possible uses. I used leftover cotton yarn, but other leftover yarn works well too.
The pattern describes 3 ladybugs in different sizes and the clover leaf with or without a stem.

Treat yourself or your loved ones to a little bit of luck! The pendant, shaped like a cloverleaf, can be used in many ways. It can be used as a keychain, as a bag charm, or as a gift tag. There are many possible uses. A shopping cart token can be stored in the middle of the cloverleaf, so you no longer have to search for a euro coin or token before going to the supermarket. It is always with you and is also nicely packaged. As a little eye-catcher, a ladybug “crawls” on the cloverleaf.
The cloverleaf is also perfect as a small gift for guests. That way, guests can carry the luck with them.
You will need cotton yarn in green and leftover yarn. It is crocheted with a 2.0 mm crochet hook.

I wish you a wonderful 2016. Lots of luck and good health.

With this detailed, well-illustrated crochet pattern, you can crochet yourself a
chubby lucky pig in one evening (or the little party pig) ♥ To keep for yourself, give away as a gift, as a neighborly present, a little comforter, bag charm ...

The little pigs are about 10 cm long (with curly tail) and 7 cm tall (with ears) -
crocheted with Catania and a 2.0 mm hook.

Nothing can go wrong with these cute lucky mushrooms!

They are easy to crochet and can even be varied. The pattern describes three different cap shapes. You can also adjust the length of the stem to suit your wishes.

With Puppets Lyric cotton yarn (size 8/8) and a 3 mm hook, they will be between 8.5 and 16 cm tall. With thinner yarn, they will be correspondingly smaller and can then be used wonderfully as bag charms or pendants.

I hope you have lots of fun crocheting and wish you a Happy New Year in advance!

Don’t we have to get through Christmas first before New Year’s Eve can even happen?

The coming year is the Year of the Monkey according to the Chinese zodiac.

And it’s not too late to start crocheting, because this time Chinese New Year doesn’t begin until February 8!

For this occasion, I’m offering a great, funny little monkey to crochet that can be used in many different ways. It can serve as a good-luck charm, jewelry stand, note holder, business card holder, decorative chain element, shelf sitter, and small gift.

Here I have a coaster about 23 cm in size in the shape of a cloverleaf. Well, if that doesn’t bring luck! If you don’t sew the parts of the coaster together, you even have 4 beautiful coasters. For New Year’s Eve, this is sure to look great on the set table. Or you can give it as a gift and include a little luck.

And here is the pattern

Have fun!

2016 - the Year of the Monkey! This little guy is meant to bring you luck, contentment, health, and prosperity.
According to the Chinese calendar, the Year of the Monkey begins in February; until then, you’ll have plenty of time to crochet him and give your friends or yourself a little treat.

The Maneki-neko, or beckoning cat, is a popular Japanese good-luck charm. It is meant to accompany you through the year and bring you, your family, or friends lots of luck and prosperity while keeping misfortune away. The color of the Maneki-neko plays a major role: calico cats are regarded as lucky charms, which is why a calico Maneki-neko promises especially much luck and prosperity. A pure white Maneki-neko stands for purity and innocence, a black one wards off demons and stalkers and is very popular with women. A golden Maneki-neko is said to attract wealth, and a red one drives away illness. Finally, a pink Maneki-neko is supposed to attract lovers.

All you need is cotton yarn, stuffing, and a crochet hook.
The pattern is suitable for beginners.
