It was wonderful! =) There was delicious food, I got some great gifts, and I was able to bring a lot of joy to others with my gifts—and we all had a great time! Now I’m already looking forward to New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day xD In the meantime, I’m knitting and crocheting :D
My husband has been laid up since Sunday. On Christmas Eve, he was in bed all day.
Anton had a fever of 40 on Christmas Eve. Long story short: on Christmas Eve, I sat alone in front of the TV with a glass of red wine, watched “Three Hazelnuts for Cinderella,” and cried.
But slowly, both of them are doing reasonably okay again. I feel a bit like a nurse—I’ve been running around nonstop the last few days. Now things are slowly settling down.
However, I got a great gift from my husband: we’re flying to Rome on January 16. I hope everyone is healthy by then.
And get well soon to everyone who’s sick or feeling under the weather—here’s to a quick recovery.
It was quiet here; on Christmas Eve, my husband and I were alone, and on Christmas Day we were at our daughter’s, but we had to cut the visit short before dinner because I stupidly strained a muscle or nerve in my left hip area—or maybe my spine—and the pain shot all the way down to my heel. I’m already a bit worn out from a few surgeries.
For Christmas, my husband gave me a macro lens for my SLR, since I discovered this style of photography for myself last year—it’s a fascinating field.
Oh Sandra, I hope your guys get back on their feet soon so you can get some rest, too. There’s still a little time left before the trip.
We had a wonderful time with friends, too. The gifts were a big hit with the grandkids and the parents, too. My friend was also very happy with the scarf. And other than that, we exchanged small gifts that mean a lot to us.
I’m still enjoying the afterglow, and I think everyday life won’t really kick in again until next year.
We just got back home from visiting my in-laws. We spent a few quiet days there with a small group (his parents, brother, sister-in-law, and one niece...) filled with lots of chatting and way too much food (but soooo delicious...)—interrupted only by a few walks. My homemade gifts were well received—which isn’t always a given. All in all, it was a wonderful Christmas.
