I just finished knitting a hat that I started last night;     it’s going into the box for the children’s food bank, and now I’ll see what I’ll put on the needles next

I’ve decided to go through my Christmas boxes this weekend so I can start decorating next week. It gets dark so early these days, so I’ll need plenty of warm lighting in my home. There are already large lanterns with warm-white LED wax candles in the stairwell. The lanterns are sitting on fringed fur rugs—that’s trendy this year, and I really like it too. Other than that, my weekend will be quiet and peaceful, which I’m really enjoying.

I wish all readers a wonderful weekend.
Best regards, Ina

Today we had a very quiet day and just went for a short walk. We’re all still feeling a little under the weather.

Tomorrow I’ll be working.
I finished the door wreath today, and now I’m continuing with the nativity figures.

I wish you all a lovely weekend too

First of all, I’d like to wish everyone a wonderful and healthy weekend. And to everyone who isn’t feeling so well, I hope you get well soon.

Yesterday we went to a pre-Christmas market in our town, with beautiful sunshine and a temperature of 13 degrees. :)

Now we’re going for a walk—it’s also 13 degrees—and then I’ll decorate our apartment for Christmas. This year, I’m really in the mood to get an early start. I’ve even already crocheted a new sample.

In half an hour, we’ll be heading to the cemetery, where we’ll light a candle at each grave together with other volunteers. After the memorial service for those who passed away last year, the bereaved will gather at the beautifully lit cemetery; a pastor will say a few words, and soft music will play. We look forward to this solemn occasion every year.
Besides that, I’m busy crocheting: I just finished 6 angel pendants, and I unraveled another angel because I didn’t like it. I don’t know yet what I’ll be working on tonight—it shouldn’t be too complicated, since we still want to watch a TV show about the 100th anniversary of the National Circus.

I’ve already started baking cookies today because my birthday is in early December, and I want to serve the first batch of cookies that afternoon. But I’ve noticed that I’m getting slower and slower, and that baking is becoming more and more tiring for me. I used to bake all my Christmas cookies in 2–3 days. Now that’s too much for me to do all at once, and I need longer breaks in between, so I’m baking a little bit at a time. Besides, baking has never really been one of my favorite hobbies (I prefer cooking). But somehow it’s just part of the tradition, and my children and grandchildren look forward to my cookies every year. Who could say no to that?
