Merino Wool

I recently bought a great pair of merino wool pajamas and now I'm thinking about maybe making something out of merino wool myself.

Has anyone had any experience with this?

Merino wool is great for knitting or crocheting and keeps you nice and warm. It’s perfect for winter.
You’ll find lots of great patterns here at Crazypatterns that use merino wool.

I work with it a lot. Just make sure to check whether the wool is machine-washable or not. I only wash it on the wool cycle without spinning. It always works really well.

I knitted my last baby blanket out of merino yarn. It was a joy to knit, and the parents were really happy with the soft blanket. Wash it on the wool cycle—as Monika already mentioned—and then lay it flat to dry; that way, you’ll enjoy it for a long time. 

I’m currently working on a soul warmer with sleeves knitted from merino wool. It feels wonderfully soft and is a joy to work with—I highly recommend it! :-)
