The best remedy for cold feet is felt slippers. Felted wool is a natural material that’s warm, temperature-regulating, soft, breathable, and sound-absorbing. Your feet will never overheat in felt slippers because excess heat is simply released outside. Felt also doesn’t absorb odors; if needed, simply leave them outside overnight to air out.
You can easily make felt shoes yourself in all sizes, various shapes, and in the future wearer’s favorite colors. What all models have in common is that you knit or crochet them in a size of your choice, and then the washing machine takes care of the felting. After that, you just need to shape them and make the soles slip-resistant. In my patterns, I explain and describe all of this in great detail. For more pictures, information, and the pattern, just click on the headings.
I hope you have fun making them and always keep your feet warm.
Felt boots with a roll collar
-> My customers’ favorite style; the roll collar is sewn onto the felted boot later. This gives you freedom in choosing the yarn for the roll collar, so you can use your favorite colors and yarns.
Felt moccasins
-> The flat slipper version, with a few rounds of crochet as well. They also fit easily in your bag for vacation or when you’re invited somewhere
Felt shoes “One-Step Felt Booties”
-> Knitted in one piece, then felted in the washing machine
