Can you use knitting patterns for crocheting?

Hi, I’m unfortunately very slow at knitting, which is why I’ve actually switched to crocheting. But I have sooo many beautiful knitting patterns (especially for stuffed animals). Is there a way to crochet these patterns instead? 

Certainly not exactly 1:1, since the ratio of rows to stitches is different in crocheting and knitting. You’ll have to experiment a bit. But the advantage of crocheting is that you can see right away what the finished piece will look like and make corrections pretty quickly.
