Dear users, dear designers,
it’s time for the awards ceremony for the month of August.
Summer has already passed its peak, but it’s shining once more with an impressive final sprint. That fits this thread perfectly. :- )

You can read up on the August projects here:
Part 1
August Projects: Having fun crafting and chatting nicely (No advertising )
Part 2
August Projects / September Projects (No advertising )

Taking part in the final sprint and awards ceremony: How does it work?
Simply copy the section below between the asterisks into your text field / reply field, fill it in accordingly, or delete what doesn’t apply.

When will the awards ceremony take place?
Around September 2/3. But I’ll still add you later, too.

Can only designers take part?
All users and designers with an account at Crazypatterns can take part. Anyone who writes a post in the final-sprint thread is in.

Every (small ) step counts. Everyone receives at least one title.
No one writing along here in the thread, no user and no designer, will go offline without an honorary title or without extra karma points / bonus points. If someone had a very stressful everyday life / many everyday challenges in August, that too can, at the user’s / designer’s request, be recognized with a fitting honorary title or with extra karma points / bonus points. If necessary, I’ll invent an honorary title to fit the individually mastered challenges. Just join in. :- )

Earn extra points / bonus points and improve your karma:
- There are always extra points for photos / pictures (only your own uploaded ones ). Please don’t upload images belonging to others (e.g. from the internet ). I have to remove those.
- Finished handmade items that are given to dear people always bring extra karma points / bonus points, too, to honor the time / effort / energy spent on them.
--> Please provide the details here in the thread each time.
- Feedback for our designers ( e.g. reviews, comments, etc. ) is also always rewarded with extra points.

Since there are hardly any or no candidates for the titles
- Concrete Casting Specialist
- Specialist in Tunisian crochet
I’ll probably leave out these titles in future.
Unless someone would like to be honored?

I may also remove more titles. New titles keep being added, so some of the old ones may have to make way.

I also rescued a ball of yarn that had been lying around for a long time and turned it into a loop scarf.

Yarn Diet: Inner Slacker Tamer in August
[x ] I would like the title Inner Slacker Tamer, because the final round for world domination / domination of our galaxy / the Milky Way / Quarterly Empress (for 9 months without buying yarn ) / Three-Quarter-Year Empress was and is not enough for me. = 1 whole year without buying yarn is the goal.

Heading into the final stretch with summer // lazy or busy in the heat:
[ x ] I didn’t let the August heat throw me off, so I’m a Perseverance Queen and Heat Queen.
I can still crochet smaller things that don’t lie so warmly on my lap even in summer.

[ x ] I was on vacation and had lots of fun. So I’m a Vacation Queen

We spent a few days in Celle and the southern heath - Celle is a great town, and I thought the blooming heathlands were magnificent. We’ll definitely come back...

Disciplined Keep-At-It Queen
[ x ] I have no or hardly any UFOs because I always keep at it consistently and with discipline instead of switching between projects.

I don’t like UFOs... of course there are a few projects, like my sofa blanket in waffle stitch, that take longer to finish (it was simply too warm to work on it much...) - or I need some time to decide whether to frog a piece or finish it. But I usually keep these things lying around me in plain sight until I decide how to proceed. That way I don’t put them off indefinitely in the first place

Best of Leftovers in August: Diligence in using up leftover yarn
[ x ] I used up lots of my colorful leftover yarn in August / emptied my leftovers basket and have honestly earned the title Best of Leftovers.

I used leftovers for my jellyfish and corals.

I also had enough leftovers for the counting fish.

Shopping Queen / King in August:
[ x ] In August I only bought urgently needed yarn.

I had a project in C2C technique floating around in my head, so I went shopping for that.

Busy Little Helper in August
[ x ] I was able to do / finish lots of handicrafts in August.
My sofa blanket hasn’t really grown much, but a few rows have been added.

I crocheted a few jellyfish and corals for my sea-themed decor.

My C2C project is growing...

I also made a little gift for my sweetheart from an empty matchbox, some colorful paper, washi tape, and modeling clay.

I also made an award for an acquaintance who has often spoiled us with his grilling skills

Pattern Optimization Champion + Hero of the Authors = Author Title in August
[ x ] In August I worked on the current seasonal themes (summer, vacation, back to school, fall, winter, Halloween, Advent, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, etc.) and uploaded one pattern or even several for them, or will still do so.

I posted a new pattern on the topic of starting school, namely Theo the Counting Fish - the link -> https://www.crazypatterns.net/de/items/52898/rechenkette-fisch-theo-haekelanleitung

I’m going to crochet an Advent calendar from it too; surely a few little treats would fit quite well in the big mouth... we’ll see. It should look pretty as a mobile.

Learned something new in August
[ x ] I learned something new in August (e.g. a new handicraft technique / type of stitch, etc.), and that makes me a winner. :- )

I learned the hard way that eyes don’t get better with age :) - when crocheting with hook size 1, I now need my reading glasses.

I stiffened the lantern that resulted with waterproof wood glue that dries clear, and learned in the process that the glue becomes much harder and more stable than the fabric stiffener intended for that purpose.

Summer and garden season in the final stretch
[ x ] I made use of the sunny + hot days and had fun in the garden / in the park / on the balcony, etc.

Unfortunately the main bloom of our lavender is already over, but the blossoms still smell so wonderful that I brought them into the apartment as a little bouquet. They can stay like that for a few more weeks.

We were out and about a lot and enjoyed the wonderful days... for example at the Cranger Kirmes fair

At the 3-day Waltrop Park Festival we listened to great bands... for example Tony Hadley from Spandau Ballet, or John Diva & the Rockets of Love

On walks in the local parks

Or simply on our balcony, grilling and enjoying ourselves.

Anything else that comes to mind, you can also write here

We had guests over for dinner, and I remembered the ancient waffle iron from my parents’ estate. It still works, and I baked us a few waffle bowls for dessert. Not especially pretty, but really delicious. I coated the bowls with couverture chocolate and filled them with Herrencreme and fruit.

Went into the final stretch with summer // lazy or busy in the heat:
The August titles

[x ] I was busy, overcame my summer/vacation/heat-related lack of motivation
and have therefore earned the title
Queen/King of Overcoming Lack of Motivation.

[x ] I didn’t let the August heat throw me off and am therefore a Perseverance Queen/King and Heat Queen/King.

[x ] I wasn’t on vacation and still had fun. I am therefore a Stay-at-Home Queen/King

new:
disciplined Staying-on-Track Queen/King
[ x]I have no or hardly any UFOs, because I always stay on track consistently and in a disciplined way instead of switching between projects.
However, I do currently have several projects going at the same time, which is rather unusual for me. There is our author color project, which is supposed to be finished by the beginning of October, a decoration for Halloween that is almost done, and then I’ve also started an embroidery picture that will definitely take a long time, because there are 74,700 crosses to stitch. But I’m not calling it a UFO, because I’m sticking with it! You just have to do something different in between now and then, otherwise it quickly gets boring.

Best with Leftovers in August: busy using up leftover yarn
[x ] In August I used up lots of my colorful leftover yarn / emptied my
leftovers basket and have therefore truly
earned the title Best with Leftovers.
--> However, anyone who bought more yarn to finish the respective
leftover-yarn projects may have to come up with something to
convince me. Good arguments are of course always an
advantage. :- )
Details about the leftover-yarn projects in August:
All 3 of my patterns that were created this month are leftover-yarn projects.

Shopping Queen / King in August:
This honorary title is for everyone who enjoys buying yarn and materials
and does not want to stick to a yarn diet / material diet / fabric diet
(at the moment ). Photos are always great.

[ x] I stocked up on my yarn / material stash and had a lot of fun doing it. :- )
Details:
For the color project I bought the yarn I needed, plus a few extra skeins ;-)
(I need the yarn marked in orange for the color project)

[x ] I bought lovely materials, e.g. colorful photo cardstock or soft fabric, etc.
Details:
I bought an embroidery kit (embroidery picture 62 x 53 cm). It will take a lot of time, but I’m looking forward to it!

Buying patterns: giving in to the shopping spree :-)

--> If you don’t want to talk about this in the forum, you can of course delete this section too.
[x ] In August I did not buy any pattern

Busy Little Helper in August
[x ] I was able to complete / finish many handmade projects in August.
Details about that:
After all, 3 patterns were finished.

[x ] I was also very busy in normal everyday life in August.
Detail
Since the kindergarten was closed in August, I spent a lot of time with my granddaughter and painted, crafted, and played with her. (In me she has a playmate who doesn’t contradict her—that’s something she really likes!)

Pattern Optimization Champion + Authors’ Hero = author title in August
[ x] I completed and uploaded at least one new pattern in August.
Write details here. Link and image allowed.
I uploaded 3 patterns in August:
Rainbow Dress for Barbie
Vegetable Basket for a Play Kitchen
Little Hedgehog Ingo

[x ] In August I worked on the current seasonal themes (summer, vacation, back to school, fall, winter, Halloween, Advent, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, etc. ) and uploaded one pattern or even several for them, or will still do so.
Write details here. Link and image allowed.
The vegetable basket and the hedgehog are fall decorations. I’m also currently working on a Halloween decoration, but it isn’t finished yet.
[x ] In August I uploaded or revised a pattern on topics that are always current and important
evergreen themes, such as leftover yarn / yarn scraps, mini projects
for on the go, patterns suitable for watching TV, beginner models, animals /
amigurumi, decor, unicorns, owls, mermaids, etc.

Write details here. Link and image allowed.
All 3 patterns fit into this category
[x ] In August I revised and improved my images / texts / my shop.
Write details here. Link and image allowed.
I was able to revise two product texts and images again:
Cat Potholder
Wasti Pencil Case

[x ] I developed further as an author in August.
Write details here.??

Summer and garden season in the final stretch // Start into fall, preparations for Halloween, Advent, Christmas

[x ] I made use of the sunny + hot days and had fun in the garden / in the park / on the balcony, etc.
Details:
At my daughter’s garden I was able to cool off in the swimming pool.

[x ] I have already started crafting the decorations / gifts /
clothing for Halloween, fall, Advent, and Christmas.
Details:
A Halloween pattern is close to being finished. Ideas for Christmas and Advent are already haunting my head and waiting to be carried out—but one thing at a time—first the color project!

[ X] I used up lots of my colorful leftover yarn in August / emptied my leftovers basket and have therefore truly earned the title Best of the Leftovers.

And the decoration for Anton’s birthday, a 2 as a giraffe

Yarn diet / Yarn Empress/Emperor / Inner-Pig-Dog Conqueror in August
[X ] I didn’t buy any yarn in August and have therefore earned the title Yarn Empress/Emperor in August.
[ X] I haven’t bought any wool/yarn for quite some time. The honorary title Yarn Empress/Emperor therefore absolutely belongs to me. But the diet is over now; I will buy yarn in August.
I haven’t bought any skeins since mid-April. But I can’t keep up the diet much longer. Oh, I hardly have any yarn left.
Let’s see how much longer it lasts.

The August Titles
[X] I didn’t let the August heat throw me off, so I am a Perseverance Queen/King and Heat Queen/King.
[X] I was on vacation and had lots of fun. So I am a Vacation Queen/King
We took a short vacation in the Bohemian Forest, and our king of the human and animal kingdom (at least he thinks he is one :-D ) really liked it there too:

UFO Queen/King in August / WIP Queen/King
[X] I was very busy in August, finished several UFOs, and have truly earned the title UFO Queen/King/WIP Queen/King.
Details about the UFOs in August:
I finished a counting chain (my idea) and wrote a pattern for it:

And using Evgenia Tychenko’s pattern for the April rug, I finally finished such a beautiful little table doily (by using filet crochet thread instead of acrylic yarn, it turned out to be about 30 cm):

On top of that, I worked diligently on the UFO bag. But since my perfectionism was on the rise again and I couldn’t fight it, I had to completely unravel both handles 5 times because of a correctly crocheted, but not quite perfectly done stitch in a spot that would be invisible anyway. So the bag still isn’t finished. And that makes me a crazy Perfectionism Queen.

new
[X] I have lots of UFOs / WIPs waiting to be finished, so I am Queen/King of the Alien Planet. :- )
Details:
- a fluffy monkey
- another monkey
- a panda
- a shawl
- 3 sets of coasters with doilies
- 2 bags
- a bunny
- a snowman
- a bird
- a potholder
- a bookmark
- a heart
- a Christmas tree
- a keychain
- a unicorn
- a hedgehog (I don’t know if it will turn into anything. The yarn I wanted to recommend is no longer available)
- a sweater (I don’t feel like it anymore. I completely miscalculated right at the beginning and only discovered it now while finishing it. So it has to be unraveled completely)
- a huge embroidery project that I haven’t worked on for more than a year

Unfortunately, I didn’t get much done in August:

1 Kurt the bag is finished; the second one still needs handles (gifts)
1 sock, the second one cast on
1 mini decorative heart as a birthday gift
The children’s jacket is finished knitting; it still needs a few appliqués

Learned something new (again): Italian bind off for the neckband of the jacket

Unfortunately, I bought quite a few skeins of yarn for Christmas gifts.

Pictures will follow as soon as the jacket is completely finished.

Of course, there will be an awards ceremony for everyone this afternoon.

I’ve also included Wollefaden and Woolbaerli.
Extra points for both of you because you had to wait due to my internet and computer issues, but of course I didn’t forget about you. I think it’s great that the monthly awards ceremony and the monthly projects have become a regular thing. No one goes home without a title—there’s always something worth honoring and recognizing.

I wish you all a successful September.
I’m glad you enjoyed the awards ceremony.

Thank you so much, Josefa, for the great titles! Now I’m twice as motivated: Early this morning, I finally finished the jacket—sewing on the appliqués took longer than I expected—but I’m so happy that Nicolas was able to try on the finished piece! I was actually planning to finish everything that’s lying around, but now I have to prioritize an urgent baby gift for America, followed by two more baby gifts, before I can get started on the Christmas projects.

Christina, that’s such a beautiful jacket. I really like it!
A pair of knitted leggings would go really well with it. ;-)

I haven’t had a chance to knit at all while on vacation... we’ve been out and about a lot.

Thanks, Monika. I don’t really see knitted leggings as something for a boy, though. By the way, it was pure coincidence that he was wearing a light green shirt and green-striped little pants yesterday—the jacket went perfectly with them!
