Making sleeves / cuffs by hand: tips and tricks?

do you have any tips and tricks for sleeves and cuffs?
Let me know.

For sweaters, shirts, and hoodies that I sew myself, I use this cuff fabric, or I simply fold the edge over and coverstitch the seam. For knitted cardigans, depending on the piece, I use either seed stitch, or knit 1/2 sts k-p, or simply garter stitch; it also depends on the cardigan I’m knitting.

Ever since I discovered RVO, I’ve been crocheting or knitting the sleeves on from the top.
For knitted RVO, I place the stitches for the sleeves on a needle cable and secure both ends.

I use the “screw-on system” from Knitpro for this.

Working from the top, I can adjust the sleeve length to fit my rather short arms.

The cuffs are then knitted in either a 1x1 rib or a 2x2 rib pattern.

I prefer to knit the sleeves top-down, as that makes it easy to adjust the length exactly as I want. When I knit them straight in the usual way, I also start from the top, which is easy too.

For the cuffs, I sometimes do 2 knit, 2 purl, or 1 knit, 1 purl, and then work the knit stitches twisted. That looks great.

Sometimes I also knit the cuffs in seed stitch or garter stitch, depending on what I want to make. 

I also like 1x1 ribbing with twisted knit stitches, but only every other round—or only on the right side rows when knitting flat.
