Sewing with Softshell

Hi everyone,
this is my first post here—I’m hoping for some helpful answers 😁

I’d like to sew some softshell pants for my two kids (almost 3 and almost 1) for the winter. Is this fabric sewn just like any other? I’ve sewn some boiled wool pants before, and that went pretty well. Is there anything special to keep in mind when working with softshell?

With softshell, you don’t need to neaten the edges because it doesn’t fray; otherwise, it sews very well. Be careful if you ever have to rip it open—small holes will remain in the fabric, but they’ll close up again over time. You can’t iron it either; the fabric sticks to the iron.
