A unicorn to ride!
The Violetta hobbyhorse unicorn is soft and plush—even the stick is soft, since it’s made from a pool noodle. This prevents injuries and damage to furniture, even during wild rides. My granddaughter loves Violetta with all her heart, and your child will too if you crochet Violetta for them.
Here’s what you’ll need:

• 100 g fluffy yarn in white (Phil douce by Phildar, LL 86 m / 50 g)
• 50 g cotton yarn (filet yarn), size 10, in white, held together with the fluffy yarn
• 150 g of cotton yarn in purple (approx. 125 m per 50 g, e.g., Catania by Schachenmayr)
• 50 g of light gray cotton yarn (approx. 125 m per 50 g, e.g., Catania by Schachenmayr)
• 2.5 mm crochet hook
• 3.0 mm crochet hook
• 1 pair of safety eyes in purple, diameter approx. 3 cm
• 1 pair of false eyelashes
• Craft batting, approx. 300 g
• 1 purple pool noodle
• Glue suitable for Styrofoam

This little unicorn, in girls’ favorite color—purple—is only about 12 cm tall. All you need is a few pieces of leftover yarn in shades of purple, and you’ll be able to crochet this cute unicorn. The pattern is also suitable for beginners. You just need basic crochet skills such as

• magic ring
• chain stitches
• single crochet
• half double crochet,
• crocheting in rounds and rows

This design will go on the ring pillow when my nephew gets married this September—my sister told me his bride is totally into unicorns, so she’ll get one too; I just need to add the names and date.

For the different pieces, I used a cotton yarn with a yardage of 125 m/50 g and crocheted with a size 3 crochet hook. Of course, there are no limits to your imagination when it comes to color combinations, so this trio is also perfect for using up leftover yarn.
