The crochet pattern is available here!

The little mermaid Marina plays all day on the ocean floor with her friends, the colorful fish. Only after sunset does she venture to the surface to comb her long blue hair... then she gazes longingly at the people, because she would so love to live with one of them.

If you’d like Marina to move in with you, you can easily crochet her yourself. Here’s what you’ll need:
  • 1 skein of Rico Baby Classic (165 m/50 g) in skin tone (color 038)
  • 1 skein each of Rico Baby Glitz (165 m/50 g) in mint and aqua (colors 004 and 001)
  • 1 skein of blue mohair yarn (Aerea by Junghans Wolle) for the hair
  • Scraps: thin cotton yarn (Catania Fine) in white, light pink, pink, and hot pink,
  • leftover glitter yarn (Gründl) in silver-gray
  • 2.5 mm crochet hook
  • Crochet hook 2.0 mm
  • Polyester stuffing
  • 1 thick sewing needle for sewing and joining the pieces
  • 1 pointed embroidery needle for embroidering the face
  • Embroidery floss in black and pink
  • 2 pieces of chenille wire (pipe cleaners), each about 35 cm long
Using the specified yarn, Marina will be about 40 cm tall. Of course, you can also use any other yarn. If you prefer natural fibers, the Catania cotton yarn from Schachenmayr is also excellent. The size may vary slightly.

Even little fashion dolls would love to be mermaids! The fishtail can be crocheted in one evening using just a few bits of leftover yarn. The pattern is very easy and can also be easily adjusted to fit the new Barbies with different body measurements. (Simply crochet a few stitches more or fewer, or a few rounds more or fewer. It’s best to always try it on the Barbie). The top and hair accessory are closed with a snap or an elastic band.
Here is the crochet pattern!
