Weekend :-)

Dear users, dear authors,
happy weekend.
What are your plans?

Our vacation week is over, so we basically had a really long weekend to enjoy.

We’re celebrating a birthday, and a big part of the family is coming to the garden to celebrate.

Tomorrow there are two flea markets nearby that I’d love to check out. I love walking around and looking for things that are special (to me).

Now I have to head to the kitchen to bake a cake :-)

I have to work again today, then not until Wednesday. We’re spending Sunday at my mom’s because it’s her birthday. We’re invited over for lunch and coffee. I probably won’t get around to crocheting, but I’ll have time for that at the start of the week.

Yesterday I enjoyed the garden and did a lot of knitting. So I’m slowly finishing up my top. :)

Today we’re having a delicious vegan meal at our neighbor’s (beans from the garden with mashed potatoes). Since the sun is taking a break today, I’m using the time to do some bookkeeping.

For many years now, we’ve been hosting a siblings’ reunion once a year in the summer in our backyard. We’re all over 55 now and have so much to catch up on. We talk about what’s new and what’s past, and every time I think to myself, it’s wonderful that I have (3) siblings. Each of us has inherited talents. But I’m the only one who inherited the needlework gene from my grandma—that, too, is a great gift.

It was a lovely day that we all enjoyed very much. Today was all about cleaning up, eating leftovers, and relaxing with some crocheting. You have to let everything sink in, and I can do that best while crocheting or knitting in the garden.
