Softshell is a wind- and water-repellent fabric that’s great for bad weather; it’s often a double-faced fabric lined with fleece on the inside. The black-and-white striped one is for the younger grandson, and the one with gray trim is for the older brother—that way, they can easily tell the jackets apart.
