Tomorrow we’re having a barbecue in my parents’ backyard to celebrate my son’s birthday—he’s turning 21. It’s hard to believe he’s already so grown up—it seems like just yesterday he was a baby and I was bringing him home from the maternity ward, and now he’s already in college!!! Today I’m going to buy all the groceries for tomorrow and prep them so everything has time to marinate properly by then. Hopefully it won’t be too hot—they’re predicting 36 degrees. But luckily, you don’t really notice the heat out in the countryside, and besides, my parents have a swimming pool, so we can jump in every now and then to cool off.
That all sounds great—barbecuing, swimming in the pool. I’m still enjoying the warmth from my vacation.
Back in changeable Norway, you need a light jacket again, but at least there won’t be any rain tomorrow.
So I wish you all a weekend that’s not too hot—send a few extra degrees our way.
I also wish everyone here a wonderful weekend! I just got back to the apartment after grilling some vegetables. We’re enjoying the garden, and I’ve already been knitting away. We’ll continue tomorrow, as long as the weather holds up.
My husband is in the hospital and had surgery yesterday. I’m not used to being alone in the house at all. It makes me feel a little uneasy, but it’s only for 7–8 days.
The weather is great, and the garden is always calling. I’m also working on some new crochet patterns. Have a wonderful weekend, everyone, and warm regards
Petra
Wishing you all a lovely weekend too; tomorrow we’re celebrating my youngest daughter’s birthday. She’s turning 44, and her husband turned 53 ten days ago, so it’s a double celebration.
This afternoon I worked out the pattern pieces for the two large Schnabelinas and cut out the medium one; unfortunately, I didn’t have enough fabric on hand for the Big. I’ll sew them next week.
I’m wishing you all a wonderful weekend, too. We’re on our way on vacation. Yesterday we stopped overnight in Leipzig. Now we’re driving to Bayreuth, and tomorrow we’ll head to St. Gilgen, where we’ll stay for 1.5 weeks.
We’re about to take a break at the Schleizer Dreieck, an old racetrack. There’s a race there today featuring old East German cars. Anton really loves cars
