Conditions for Selling Patterns

Hello, dear fellow crafters,
Today I have a specific question about selling patterns. I’ve already read the basic terms and conditions for selling on an online platform from others, but there’s still something that isn’t entirely clear to me. Years ago, I ran a small shop selling craft supplies, and that’s where I also sold my handmade items. However, when I retired, I closed the shop and deregistered the business. From that time, though, I still have a permanent itinerant trade license, since I also sold my items at markets. Is this itinerant trade license sufficient for online sales, or do I need to apply for a new business license?

Hi EbiLu,
I can’t give you legal advice, but I believe that online retail isn’t considered a traveling trade (§ 55 GewO). That’s why you’ll need to register a permanent business (§ 14 GewO).
Just check with the local office in your city. They’ll be able to answer that quickly.
