Can anyone help me? Crochet chart from BURDA 1980

Hi everyone!
I’m at a loss, so I’m turning to you today. I have a Burda pattern from 1980, and unfortunately I don’t understand the instructions. I’m attaching two pictures so you can see what I’m talking about. The first few rounds are crocheted, then knitted. The problem for me starts right at the very beginning....Even on the first round, I’m getting stuck—even though I’m actually an experienced knitter and crocheter. I managed the “16 single crochet stitches separated by 12 chain stitches each.” But then???? Who can help me??

Well then.....!! My request has already become obsolete here.... Please delete my post, since it’s completely useless without a picture....

Hi Sylvia, why don’t you try posting your question in a Facebook crochet group? Most groups allow small excerpts from patterns, so you might get some help there.
