Knitted fabrics

Warp-knitted fabric is a fabric in which the *stitches* are interlaced to create a fabric in which NO stitches can run. Tights, for example, where no stitches can run, are warp-knitted; if stitches can run, the fabric is knitted.
At first glance, the two types of knitted fabrics cannot be distinguished from one another. The specific difference lies in the
manufacturing process. A knitted fabric is made from a single thread system, whereas warp-knitted
fabric is produced from a large number of parallel threads. This means that with
knitted fabrics, one loop is inserted into the next until a
row is formed. With warp-knitted fabrics, a large number of loops are interlaced so that an entire parallel unit is formed.
