Christmas Commercialism

Christmas is already in full swing, even on Crazypatterns, although Christmas is still a long way off. For me personally, the Christmas items, even here on Crazypatterns, are too early, even though of course I know you can’t start advertising early enough. Of course, there are also quite a few items that my better half will find irresistible.
With that in mind, I wish you all a wonderful Hallo-Christ-ween-mas, with nice little splashes of chicks and nests in the garden. In the B2B sector, Christmas is, after all, the new Easter.

It’s true—it feels like Christmas advertising starts a little earlier every year. When it comes to crafts, though, I can understand that—you have to start early if you want to finish all your knitted or crocheted items in time for the holidays.

What annoys me is that the “regular” decorations—the ones you just buy at the store—and all the Christmas treats are always available as early as the end of August. I definitely think that’s too early; early November would be plenty of time...

Sure, it’s early, but you have to keep in mind that everything has to be ready by St. Nicholas Day or Christmas. It would be a bit late if the Christmas spirit didn’t kick in until December 1.

That’s why I think the end of October is perfectly fine.

The Christmas commercialism isn’t even noticeable this year. ;-)

I try to ignore that in the stores this time of year.

It’s different when I’m knitting or crocheting, though, because I want to finish the project. If you can’t stick with it, you have to start early.
