I was shocked to discover that I still have a box full of leftover yarn. It needs to be used up now. But for a new shawl project, I’ll have to buy “some” yarn in the near future. I’ve been looking forward to that the whole time.
My wool is doing fine. I’m not doing so well, though, because I’m still working through my stash. But it’s going pretty slowly. So I can’t write much at all. I’ve already bought 2 KG this year and have used just over 1 KG so far. Unless a little miracle happens, I won’t be able to go shopping again until fall.
I’m lucky enough to live near the factory outlet. For my baby blanket, I wanted gray and mint. Back in the day, you could still buy individual skeins, but today they’re always packaged in sets. So just for the blanket—with 10 skeins of each color—I ended up with 1 kg right away.
There are so many great yarns there that the shopping cart fills up very quickly. Here’s a picture from back then
My yarn is doing great, too. A few skeins are waiting impatiently to finally be knitted… But now the garden is also crying out: The strange weather in April and May has caused the weeds to sprout in unprecedented quantities and heights!
Unfortunately, I also had to buy materials for a new project, so I’m not making as much progress on using up my stash as I’d hoped. At least the six new skeins should be used up soon.
