What yarn to use for dishcloths



I like to crochet dishcloths as little gifts and give them away along with a color-coordinated dishcloth.

A long time ago, I bought a stash of cotton yarn at a discount store—115 m per 50 grams. That stash is now slowly running out, and I need to restock. The pot holder yarn—90 m / 50 grams—is too thick for me.

Does anyone have a suggestion for an alternative, or what kind of yarn do you use to knit or crochet your dishcloths and makeup remover pads?

I’d go with soft cotton yarn that contains viscose or kapok. The myboshi Lieblingsfarben line, for example, contains kapok.
Or a bamboo-blend yarn....
I wouldn’t use extra-smooth cotton yarns like Catania or Cotone by Lana Grossa for dishcloths, makeup remover pads, etc., because they can sometimes become stiff after several washes and aren’t very absorbent. 

I have the myboshi yarn at home. I’ll give that a try.
I thought you were only supposed to use cotton because it has to be washed. 

Cotton blends work just as well. I used myboshi for my beauty kit, which I designed myself. I’ve washed the makeup remover pads and the little pouch many times already, since my daughter and I use them all the time. I even wash them at 60 degrees, and they’re still in great shape.
