Dear users, dear authors,
how are you all doing?
How’s the weather?
What’s for dinner?
Do you have any plans for the week or craft goals?
Tell me all about it.

Luckily, I’ve recovered from my cold and am back at work.
It rained quite a bit here this morning, but right now the sun is shining and the temperatures have gotten milder.
For lunch today, I won’t be eating anything—as an exception—since I want to rush to the gym after work to do something about those extra pounds, so I’ll just have some raw vegetables later.
This week I’d like to finish the crocheted “Grandpa” figure (pattern from here); I’m currently working on the legs, but I think I’ll be able to finish it this week.

Have a great start to the week, everyone!

Unfortunately, I’m home sick again...
I haven’t been sick once since I started working full-time, and now this is already the third time this year...
Oh well, I’ll just have to get through it...

For lunch today I just had some bread; tonight I’m having a casserole with pasta, ground beef, and feta cheese :)

And since I’ve finally finished my tax return, maybe I’ll be able to do some crocheting again sometime ;)

A good friend is visiting us for 10 days, and we’re really happy about it. Finally, we have more time for each other.

Something funny happened yesterday. She was looking for tissues, and I told her they were on the table. It took her a while, but then she spotted the crocheted tissue box cover. She liked it so much that now she wants one to match her decor—along with square granny-square coasters in the same color. Luckily, I have the colors in stock, so I don’t have to break my yarn diet.

I’m happy that I can fulfill one of her wishes, because she’s always there for us when we need her. A real treasure!

For dinner today, we’re having a vegetable and rice stir-fry and salad.

We got back last night from a weekend trip to visit my in-laws (it was my mother-in-law’s birthday, and we had a lovely weekend...) and discovered that the main fuse in our apartment’s fuse box had blown.
Luckily, we quickly found the culprit—our well pump is shot.

First, of course, we sorted through the contents of our freezer… thankfully, not everything had thawed; just a few small items were completely thawed and maybe spoiled… so they went in the trash.
We refroze the slightly thawed items and ate a few half-thawed things today.
So today’s meal was a pretty strange mix—fried minced pork with onions, lamb fillet, fries, bell pepper strips, and raspberry quark... Tomorrow we’ll have duck breast with pointed cabbage; I guess we’ll keep improvising like this for a few more days, since I just don’t like letting things sit around for too long but also don’t want to throw them away...
Well, at least it didn’t turn out too badly.

But on an evening like that, it still really gets your blood pumping...

First of all, get well soon to everyone who’s sick. But with this weather right now, it’s no wonder. It’s rainy and cold here in Swabia. When the sun manages to find a little peek-through spot, it gets very warm right away.....

I do have crafting goals: I don’t want to buy any new yarn. I’m working through my cotton stash by making dishcloths, and my scarf is almost finished too, so that’s about 250 grams used up.

Unfortunately, I still have to work a lot and can’t enjoy my afternoons at home. But I can’t go out into the garden anyway, with this muddy weather.

A photo from me from last week, when it wasn’t raining for once and spring was briefly here.

Have a lovely week

Here, the sun actually came out for a while and it was warm. Yesterday we had asparagus with turkey cutlets and baked potatoes; we bought the asparagus and potatoes on Sunday at a market stall at our town festival. I’d hoped the yarn shop in town would be open for Sunday shopping and maybe even have a sale, but unfortunately it was closed. Never mind—I don’t really need any yarn anyway, but it would’ve been nice to browse...

As far as the weather goes, it’s been alternating between drizzle and heavier rain here.

Craft goals: keep working on the tablecloth and “turn old into new”—I’ve unraveled a triangular shawl to make a stole out of it.

Photo from the Palmengarten on Saturday—that’s where the frogs were putting on their concert:

One of them was hiding a bit.
