Dear users, dear authors,
A baby animal made from leftover yarn with beginner-friendly patterns is a charming idea and also makes a great gift.
Just give it a try.

@Authors:
2–3 patterns per author are enough. Don’t forget to include a link, an image, and the usual information.

Little baby cats are always a hit! This sweet kitten is suitable for beginners, because it is crocheted using only single crochet stitches. As a beginner, though, I would advise you not to crochet with fluffy yarn (left kitten), but to use acrylic yarn (e.g., Bravo by Schachenmayr - right kitten). Once you have a little more practice, you can also try your hand at fluffy yarn. The pattern includes lots of valuable tips on how to avoid the difficulties with this yarn. The baby cat will be about 20 cm tall. You need a little less than 1 skein (50 g) of yarn.

You can also crochet this little elephant using fluffy yarn, acrylic yarn, or cotton. Again, I recommend acrylic or cotton for beginners. It is about 20 cm tall and can be crocheted from a single ball of yarn. Just a few scraps are enough for the accessories (hat, swim ring, and little boat). The elephant is crocheted using only single crochet stitches; for the swim ring, you’ll also need half double crochet and double crochet stitches.

Little Koala Fridolin

Fridolin is crocheted using only single crochet stitches, making him suitable for beginners as well. To crochet him, you’ll need approx. 35 g of yarn in the main color, plus scraps in white and black (Royal by Zeeman with a yardage of 120 m / 50 g was used here). If you’d like to get a first look at the pattern, you’ll find a preview under the link as the last image.

Have fun crocheting!

Little Marta is about 17 cm tall when made with yarn with a yardage of 120 m / 50g.
She is suitable for somewhat more advanced beginners, as half double crochet stitches are also used here.

Have fun crocheting her!

This little wobbly calf would love to be cuddled!

It’s crocheted using Bravo yarn by Schachenmayr, making it suitable even for the tiniest hands.
Using the yarn I used and a size 2–3 hook, the calf measures about 39 cm tall.
Of course, it can also be crocheted with any other yarn!
Thanks to its crocheted and securely sewn-on eyes, it’s suitable for toddlers.
