Dear users, dear authors,
I was told over in the other thread that the topic of Crasy Trio would like to be discussed in great detail. So I’m starting a thread about it and hope for lots of contributions. Have fun :-)

It would be nice if you could also explain it in very general terms so that all readers know what is being talked about. Not everyone knows this term. Thank you.

Crasy Trio are special, short, flexible knitting needles for knitting small rounds. A set consists of 3 needles.
When knitting small rounds, a single circular needle sometimes doesn’t work well, so people usually use a set of double-pointed needles (5 knitting needles). Many people don’t like knitting with double-pointed needles because the stitches can easily slip off the needles that aren’t currently being used, or those needles are simply “in the way.” Crasy Trio is meant to make knitting in the round easier. Here, you only have 3 needles, which are also flexible rather than rigid.
There are also special patterns for knitting with the Crasy Trio, but basically, any knitting project meant for double-pointed needles can also be knitted with the Crasy Trio.

I love the Crasy Trio, even though I had to get used to it at first. Since then, I’ve also enjoyed knitting in small rounds—for example, socks, sleeves, and so on.

For me, it’s a huge help, especially when knitting just a few stitches. Even doll socks are super easy to make with it.

Ruth has already described it in great detail.
The Crasy Trio is easy to use thanks to its three needles, and the flexible middle sections (similar to a mini circular needle) allow you to secure the knitting project well so nothing falls off. I learned to knit socks with it; before that, using the five needles of a conventional set of double-pointed needles was too fiddly and bulky for me.
For many double-pointed knitters, however, the Crasy Trio is too cumbersome—I think everyone has to try it out for themselves.

I love the Crasy Trio needles, too, since I often knit on the go. Stitches tend to slip off a set of double-pointed needles, and the flexible, short needles are easier to stow away.

Oh, I didn’t even know this type of needle existed. Thanks so much for the suggestion. If I come across them, I’ll be happy to try them out—thanks to your positive opinion. I’m curious.

Best regards - Ina

Thank you very much—that’s very interesting. I didn’t know about these needles either, but
I think it’s worth giving them a try!

Unfortunately, I’m not as enthusiastic as the previous posters. I just can’t get the hang of it—I always end up pulling a needle out while knitting, and the transition between the two needles never turns out neat. For anyone who feels the same way, my tip is the “Sockenwunder”... a mini circular needle that lets you knit socks much faster, since you don’t have to keep switching needles—at least that’s how it works for me.

“Sockenwunder”? I’ll have to look that up right away! I’m having trouble getting the hang of the Crasy Trio needles, too. Thanks for the tip.

Are Crasy Trio needles only meant for knitting socks?

I’d like to knit doilies more often, but that tends to involve a lot of swearing—especially at the beginning.

@ Marlene:
You can use the Crasy Trio anywhere you’d normally use a set of double-pointed needles.

Thank you, Ruth :)

So I'm adding the Crasy Trios to my "must-have" list.

The CrazyTrio bamboo needles are a luxury option—they’re lightweight and very comfortable to hold!
