Bags are best crocheted from cotton yarn because it keeps the bag nice and stable in shape and doesn't stretch out as quickly.
The technique of "Tunisian crochet" is especially well suited for this.
It's very easy. All you need is a Tunisian crochet hook (available in craft stores) and, of course, cotton yarn.
Here is a particularly simple model that is crocheted in the Tunisian simple stitch:

Since only a rectangle is crocheted here and the bag is made with gradient yarn, you can focus entirely on the new technique. It is explained in detail in the pattern. Then the bag is folded origami-style and sewn together. Your new market bag will be ready in no time!
Here is the pattern: Origami Bag.

Would you rather crochet conventionally? I also have a pretty bag for you that you could give to your mom for Mother's Day, for example:

The bag is worked like a net and is very roomy. This also makes it wonderful as a beach bag, since the sand can trickle through the holes.
Here you only need to crochet double crochet and chain stitches. There is a graphical chart for the heart with the lettering. It is also described round by round in words.

I’ve discovered Catania Originals cotton yarn for myself.
So I can highly recommend this wonderful summer clothing. It can also be worked with in warm temperatures.

Crochet Pattern: Halter-Neck Dress with Clutch and Hat

Cotton yarns are characterized by well-defined stitch patterns and bright, vibrant colors. That’s why I love using them for my figure-hugging doll dresses. They don’t stretch out of shape—they always fit perfectly and look elegant.

With this crochet pattern, you can make 3 designs:

- a figure-hugging dress with lacing in the back and a halter-neck closure
- a clutch (you absolutely need this with this dress)
- and a modern hat with a wide brim

Feel free to check out my examples and the additional information. Just click on the title. I hope you enjoy creating these doll outfits—Yours, Ina

Free crochet pattern for a charming candle holder

You can easily crochet this little candle holder yourself from just 30 g of cotton. You’ll need an old jam jar, the yarn, 2 crochet hooks in sizes 3.5 and 4.5, and my free pattern.

This candle holder fits in just about anywhere: on the balcony, in the garden, or simply on the table. It’s quick to crochet and also makes a lovely hostess gift. For the free pattern, just click the heading.

I hope you have lots of fun with this project - Yours, Ina

PS. Once you’ve crocheted a few rounds, it could already be used as a bowl ... - and a little bowl like that is so versatile: for snacks, hair clips, or odds and ends.

Crochet Pattern Heart Pendant

The beautiful pattern of the filled heart really stands out thanks to the cotton yarn. You can crochet it in your favorite color and decorate with it in many ways: as a scented hanger in the wardrobe, as a gift for someone dear, or as decoration for a child's room. I sometimes crochet a few in advance, so I always have a loving gift for someone special.

You can find more pictures, information, and the pattern by clicking the heading.

I hope you enjoy this project - Yours, Ina

Perfect for summer play, this little dino is crocheted from cotton.

It’s crocheted in two parts, which are then joined together using a contrasting color. The pattern is written out in detail, row by row, and if you’re comfortable with single crochet, chain stitches, and slip stitches, this little guy will be finished in no time and ready to play.

With yarn measuring 100 m, the finished piece is approx. 31 cm tall and 40 cm long.

This design is perfect for summer.

You should be familiar with single crochet, half double crochet, chain stitches, and slip stitches.
Also ideal for leftover cotton yarn. Depending on the yarn weight, the booties have a sole length of 8.5 to 10 cm.

You can never have enough potholders, and they are still indispensable in any kitchen.

Grab your crochet hook and cotton yarn, and let's get started.
These maritime designs are all crocheted in Tunisian simple stitch, which is explained in a practice section in the pattern.

The AnBuCo poncho is knitted with approx. 430 g of cotton. The cotton has a yardage of 150 m per 100 g.
The border is knitted with a simple lace pattern. In the center section, only 2 different patterns are knitted; they are explained in detail and also shown in a chart.
