Looking for help with the Niffler pattern

Hi, I'm new to crocheting and I'm having trouble understanding the instructions that say "x 2" or "x 4." What am I supposed to do there? For example, "FM + ZN x 2." Please help me out—I'd really appreciate it! Wena

"x 2" means that you have to repeat the instruction twice.
So, in your example: crochet 1 single crochet + 1 increase (= 2 single crochets in one stitch), and then crochet 1 single crochet + 1 increase again (for a total of 2 times).

6 means that you now have 6 stitches in the round.
In the 1st round, you crocheted 4 stitches into a magic ring, which is why it says 4 at the end of the line.
In the 2nd round, you crochet 1 single crochet, then 1 increase, then another single crochet, and one more increase. Since you’ve increased by 2 stitches, you now have 6 stitches in the round.
In the 3rd round, double each stitch—that’s 6 increases—so you’ll have 12 stitches in the round, and so on.
