Dear users, dear authors,
are the techniques used for heavy knit and chunky knit, or the result, identical, or are there differences?
Heavy knit is apparently trending in 2019, which is why I’m asking. :-)
I actually had to Google it first—I’ve never heard of “Schwerstrick” before. I think it actually refers to “Grobstrick.” But it sounds kind of weird. Let’s see if there are any more answers—I’m curious!
And with chunky knit, we treat the knitted piece especially roughly — or rather, coarsely. :)
Such a ridiculously stupid name for pieces with large stitches. It sounds better in English: chunky knit (lumpy knitting).
I just Googled it because I had absolutely no idea what it meant. If (!) I understand correctly, Schwerstrick refers to the material. The image search brings up a few sweaters made from it, and some online shops offer this kind of item. Probably thicker wool or something like that—thicker yarn, in any case.
