Fleece-Lined Knit Hat – Looking for Inspiration

Hi everyone,
my daughter is having a baby next month. I’d like to give her a personal gift for the occasion. On ***Link***, I saw a cute knitted hat that’s lined with fleece. I can handle the knitted part, but now I’m stuck on how to attach the fleece to the hat nicely. Can any of you help me with this?

You’ll probably have to sew the lining in by hand using a mattress stitch, with turned seams; at least that’s how I’d do it. And make a small stitch at the top so the lining doesn’t flip outward.
