Materials
- Leftover cotton yarn in blue and orange or other colors – start with two colors. Once you are familiar with Tunisian crochet in rounds, you can work with one color.
- A double crochet hook so that you always have a hook available when turning the work.
- Scissors
- Wool needle
- Stitch markers (optional)
Instructions
Since not all stitches can be crocheted in one go, you will need to turn the work repeatedly and work a little of each back row.
So if you get stuck, turn the work, pull the second color thread through the loops, and turn again to continue with the front side.
Start with a magic ring in blue.
- Then make 6 loops in the ring.
For each loop, pick up the thread, pull it through the ring, pick up the thread again and pull it through the bow to make a chain stitch. This is your first loop. Repeat this five more times.
- Turn your work and begin the return row with orange.
This row is the same as every return row.
Here, you do the same as for the foundation row when crocheting Tunisian in rows.
Turn again and
- Work another 6 loops into the ring so that you have a total of 12 loops.
Turn and continue as in step 2.
- Now double each stitch.
To do this, make a yarn over before each stitch. - Work one round without increases.
- We now double every 2nd stitch - 1 loop, 1 yarn over, 1 loop.
- Crochet the next round without increases again.
- This time, double every third stitch: 2 loops, 1 yarn over, 1 loop..
- The increases are made according to the above pattern until you have 48 stitches.
- To finish, crochet the double crochets, working halfway.
Cut the threads and sew them up.
