Crochet Autumn Decorations: Pattern for Leaves, Acorns & Mushrooms (incl. Fly Agaric)

Donnerstag, 28. August 2025

Autumn is a season full of colors, scents, and little treasures. Outside, the leaves glow in shades of yellow, red, and orange, children collect chestnuts and acorns, and on forest walks you can spot the first mushrooms. At home, we often want to keep this cozy feeling – and with a few small crochet projects, it’s easy to bring autumn indoors.

Today I’ll show you three simple projects that perfectly match the golden season:

  • 🍁 Heart-shaped leaves
  • 🌰 Acorns
  • 🍄 Mushrooms (classic & fly agaric version)

All projects are quick to make, perfect for using up yarn scraps, and a lovely way to get creative with the family. While mom or grandma crochets, the kids can pick colors or help with decorating.

🧶 Here's how it's done: We'll use the following stitches:

Chain stitch: yarn over, pull through the hole.

Slip stitch: Insert the hook into the stitch, yarn over, and pull through the loop on the hook.

Single crochet: Insert the hook into the stitch and yarn over. There are two loops on the hook. Yarn over and pull through the two loops on the hook.

🧶 Materials

For your autumn crochet decorations you’ll only need a few supplies – many of which you probably already have at home.

🍁 Crochet Heart-shaped Leaves

Leaves are simply part of autumn. You can crochet them in all shades – from bright yellow to deep red – and use them as table scatter, appliqués, or a cute garland.
