Family crocheted wall hanging

Materials:

Yarn of your choice. Cotton, acrylic will do. I used acrylic in different colours, 400 m/ 100 g. You may use any left-over yarn as the consumption is minimal.

Yarn of the following colours is required: nude (for the head), yellow (for the sun), for clothes the yarn colour of your choice, for a dog and a cat – the colours corresponding to animals.

- A crochet hook, I used 1,25 mm crochet hook

- A sewing needle

- For embroidery: a few threads of black, green and white

- Transparent glue or double-sided adhesive tape

- For eyes: you can use small beads or embroider eyes with yarn.

- A frame of a suitable size (I used a 20x25 frame)

- A sheet of cardboard (the size corresponds to the frame)

- Black marker

- Paints (watercolour or gouache)

Abbreviations:

ch – chain

sl st – slip stitch

sc – single crochet

hdc – half double crochet

dc - double crochet

inc – increase (2 sc in 1 st)

2 inc, 3 inc – 2, 3 increases in sequence

dec – decrease (single crochet two stitches together)

All parts are flat. Do not add the hollow fiber.

Take yellow colour yarn for the sun, and nude colour yarn for the head.

Sew on the ears.

For the eyes, you can take small beads and sew them on. Or embroider eyes. Embroider the eyes with stitches, use black yarn and make tight wraps around those stitches with yarn.

Embroider the whites of the eyes with white colour yarn.

Create hairstyles.

1st version of the hairstyle

Take yarn, cut it into 8-10 cm long segments and fold them in half. Attach a threads to make a fringe (see photo). Attach only from the front. Cut off the excess.

2nd version of the hairstyle

Cut the yarn into 10-12 cm long segments. Fold in half, make 2 such bundles. Sew in the crown area.

3rd version of the hairstyle

Cut the yarn into 12-15 cm long long segments. Form a bundle. Sew it in the area of the crown and ears. Cut off the excess.

Draw the sea and sand on cardboard. You can draw grass and sky, if desired. Wait for the paints to dry.

To assemble a picture – put all the details on glue or double-sided tape.

Glue the heads first. Draw a necks marker.

Then glue the clothes. Draw the hands and legs of each person with a marker. Glue the shoes.

Glue the sun, the details of the cat and dog.

Insert the picture into the frame. You can hang it on the wall!
