Funny Easter car

Easter decor is a funny Easter car with bunny ears. The car fits 3 large of 4 small chicken eggs.
Materials:

Yarn of your choice. Cotton and acrylic will do. The colour of the car is your choice. Choose a contrasting colour for it. I use blue mélange and dark blue acrylic, 420 m / 100 g.

You will also need some pink yarn.
- A crochet hook, I used 1,5 mm crochet hook 

- Disposable plastic container 0.5 l

- A sewing needle, matching sewing threads

- Transparent glue

- 1 pair of ready-made eyes, I used 18 mm diam eyes

- For wheels - 4 large buttons in black or brown, or any other colour. I used 3.0 cm diam buttons

Abbreviations:

ch – chain

sl st – slip stitch

sc – single crochet

hdc – half double crochet

dc - double crochet

inc – increase (2 sc in 1 st)

dec – decrease (single crochet two stitches together)

(...) x N times – repeat instructions in brackets N times

Car body
For the base, take a disposable plastic container with a capacity of 0.5 liters. Cut out the base with scissors or a sharp knife, like mine. 3 sides with a height of 4.5 cm, 4th side (narrow side) with a height of 8.5 cm. The upper edge of the 4th side must be rounded - this will be the "windshield".

Measure the length and width of the bottom of the container with a ruler. I got 6cm x 10cm. With the main colour yarn crochet a rectangle with the received sizes.

Work in rows. Make as many chains as required. I had 17 ch. 
Row 1. Starting from 2nd ch from hook: 16 sc, 1 ch, turn (16)

Row 2. inc, 14 sc, inc, 1 ch, turn (18)

Row 3-5. 18 sc, 1 ch, turn (18)

Row 6. inc, 16 sc, inc, 1 ch, turn (20)

Row 7-25. 20 sc, 1 ch, turn (20)

Row 26. dec, 16 sc, dec, 1 ch, turn (18)

Row 27-29. 18 sc, 1 ch, turn (18)

Row 30. dec, 14 sc, dec, 1 ch, turn (16)

Try on the part to the plastic container. Reduce or increase the number of rows if required

Row 31. Crochet from A to B 16 sc, crochet from B to C 31 sc, crochet from C to D 16 sc, crochet from D to A 31 sc ​ (94)

Next, crochet a few rounds to the height of the container. Crochet in a spiral:

Rnd 34. (inc, 15 sc, inc, 30 sc)х 2 times (98)

Constantly try  the crocheted item on the container. When 1 cm remains to the edge of the container, crochet as follows:

Rnd 43. 53 sc, work 33 ch, skip 14 loops, 35 sc (88+33 ch)​ - this is the hole for the "windshield".

Rnd 44. 52 sc, skip 1 loop, continue along the chain: 10 sc, 2 inc, 9 sc, 2 inc, 10 sc, continue along the main loops: skip 1 loop, 34 sc (123)

Rnd 45. 50 sc, 3 sc together, 11 sc, 2 inc, 9 sc, 2 inc, 11 sc, 3 sc together, 31 sc, 1 sl st (123)

Rnd 46. Into the back loops only: 123 sc

Rnd 47. 50 sc, inc, 12 sc, dec, 11 sc, dec, 12 sc, inc, 32 sc (123)

Fasten off, cut off.

Attach a contrasting colour thread at point A (see the pictures for guidance). Crochet along the edge: 47 sl st. Fasten off, cut off.

Attach a contrasting colour thread to previously unworked front loops of the 46th round. (see the pictures for guidance). Crochet 123 sl st. Fasten off, cut off.

The body for the car is ready. Insert a plastic container inside. Bend the edges of the body inward around the entire perimeter. Glue.

Car fender (make 4)

Crochet with yarn in 2 additions.
Row 1. work 13 ch, starting from 2nd ch from hook: 12 sc

Fasten off, cut off.

Sew 4 buttons on - these are wheels. Sew car fenders on top of the wheels.

Glue on the eyes. Sew eyelids on.

Eyelid (make 2)

Row 1. work 9 ch, starting from 2nd ch from hook: 8 sc

Fasten off, cut off.

Embroider a smile. Embroider the car door and handle with contrast thread.

Ear (make 2)
Crochet with main colour yarn.

Inner part of the ear (make 2)
Crochet with pink yarn.
Row 1. work 12 ch, starting from 2nd ch from hook: 1 sc, 2 hdc, 4 sl stн, 2 hdc, 1 sc, 1 sl st (11)

Cut off yarn, leave a tail for further operation. Sew the inner part to the ear.

Sew the ears to the car.​
